The new era of Intel Processors is now with us bringing DDR4 high bandwidth memory to the masses. Skylake has revolutionised the way that mainstream hardware is viewed and the lines between enterprise class hardware have been blurred.
Since we got our hands on very early Skylake micro-architecture processors, we have been tirelessly optimising the platform and pushing for the very best performance we can.
Skylake has many advantages that make it worth considering over previous generations for Gamers, Hardware Enthusiasts and Power Users. Some of these notable features include:
- Guaranteed CPU overclock of 4.50GHz
- 14nm transistor count manufacturing process
- Reduced power consumption
- Enhanced CPU and GPU performance
- High Frequency DDR4 Memory Support
- Low TDP output
- High PCI-Express Bandwidth
- M.2 PCI-Express AHCI/NVMe native support
Skylake is not just another mainstream release. The overclocking capability of these 'low thermal output' processors is immense as they run cool out of the box which gives enormous potential to enthusiasts.
There is a reason why Intel has touted Skylake as their most 'Significant Processor Release' for over a decade.
This Bundle has been developed in house at Overclockers UK to provide end users with a safe, reliable and fast base for any powerful system. Ian '8Pack' Parry has approved the use of every component in this bundle to ensure that it not only meets the expectations of our customers but it exceeds them in every way.
The Hardware in this bundle has been carefully selected after extensive testing to present our customers with an attractive price as well as a reliable system using products from trusted partners.
- Skylake i7 6700K OEM: Providing hyperthreading quad core (8 threads) technologies with huge overclocking headroom a staggering 8MB of L3 Cache for responsive and efficient computing.
- Asus Z170 Maximum VIII Hero Motherboard: An exceptional optimised motherboard with intuitive features and a rounded feature set that would complement any system as well as providing a stable base for upgrades in future. With fantastic aesthetics this board not only performs but looks the part as well.
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz: A performance DDR4 memory kit with low latencies and attractive heatspreaders. This kit will perform reliably and look fantastic with the other hardware in this bundle.
The Elite Tier SkyLake Bundle has specific cooling requirements and all bundles will ship with our tried and tested cooling solutions:
- Asetek 240mm 570LXL: An advanced closed loop performance CPU Cooler that runs quietly. This unit is ideal for use with this bundle and has proven to be one of the most reliable liquid cooling units we have ever sold. Our very own systems are built using Asetek cooling solutions.
- OcUK & SilverStone - 120mm FQ121WC: This fan has been specifically designed to meet our requirements for performance watercooling. We suggest pairing these with a fan controller for the best results.
In addition to this host of Elite Tier Hardware, Overclockers UK will be providing each customer with a comprehensive guide on how to Overclock this system. We will take all the hard work out of this for you meaning the most you will need to do is to type in a few simple settings. It really couldn't be easier.
Please Note*
You will need to ensure that your computer case has enough room to fit a 240mm radiator in the roof or rear.
Performance can only be guaranteed when this bundle is used in conjunction with a quality 80+ Gold or better Power supply unit of suitable wattage for your whole system.
Overclockers UK Suggests using Super Flower Power Supplies to ensure maximum stability in performance applications.
The Fans on this bundle can be loud if ran at full speed. We recommend using them in conjunction with a Fan Controller to get the best balance of noise and performance.
For those looking for a graphics card to compliment this amazing Elite Tier bundle we recommend NVIDIA's GTX 980Ti graphics card.
8 Pack Overclock settings for this bundle, see this thread on our forum: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18692676

But then, if you wait until the end of next year, even better components will be out. Or, wait untill the year after that, yet more better components will be out!
Point of comment: i gave up waiting for components to be released years ago (unless it was literally 2 months away). Even when they do get released, there is usually a hefty price premium for being the first to get your hands on them. It just aint worth it IMO.

What's the point of including a game when it doesn't come with a graphics card? I guess you can then choose your own, then sell the two copies of the Division
That's a great deal. I've been looking at the exact same layout all weekend but I just never pulled the trigger as all the write ups say moving from a i7 3770k didn't warrant the money yet. My GTX980TI does the job :-)

NO, don't be so foolish! You should wait for the year after that, then even newer CPUs and GPUs will be available... but NO! Haha! FOOL AGAIN, so stupid! You should wait for following year, then the tech is better still. WAIT, STOP! HAHA! You crazy impatient young whippersnapper... don't be so quick, learn some self control man! In 2019 we will have the fastest CPU's and GPUs known to mankind, so yes, buy then. NOOOOO! HAHA! You so stupid!! Have you learnt nothing?! It's a set of high spec components for an upgrade:
An I7 CPU - overclockable to 4.5GHz
16 GB DDR4 RAM
A Nice motherboard
500GB SSD
Watercooling + fans
It's ideal for people with a decent GPU (graphics card) as they likely have a suitable case/PSU otherwise these things you'd need to add before having a fully functional PC.

16 Mar 161#15
Thank you! Just really the best value for speed I can have except for the cpu which I think should be this one. Probably still 16gb of ram. I already have a case and storage from my (very) old pc. I will be using it to make music and edit videos. I was hoping for a motherboard that uses Thunderbolt because a lot of musical equipment comes with a firewire connection.
If your case fits and your PSU is suitable (should you be considering the overclock, see notes on the OCUK page) then this deal may be worth considering, as you could use your existing storage (as well as the included SSD as a boot drive)

I hope so, Intel need some competition to drive down price and speed up development. However my fear is AMD's financial troubles are going to have limited R&D which seems to have been the problem for the last 4 years. No new CPU's and most GPU's are overcooked prior gen cards

I heard Skylake processors are going to be locked to the spyware that is Win10. So you won't be able to install any earlier versions of Windows lower than Win10. Some have predicted 'old' Haswell computers may increase in price because of demand.
But as people have said, Zen is around the corner so may as well sit, wait and see.

What you quoted means the motherboard supports an M.2, not that it's included in the bundle. Which it is not. There is a free 500GB Samsung SSD added on top of all the other items. So to answer the original question: the pictured M.2 SSD is not included.

No need for such a cpu...
Save your money grab an i5 and a better graphics card. Ddr4 is not needed either but the price is dropping.
Nearly 700 quid when you could get a full pc with a 970 in it for that price, that would run all games at decent settings for ages...
One thing ive learned about pcs is that cpus last forever these days and i7s are not needed at all for gaming the performance increase is just not noticeable even on multicore supported games.

Don't think they are really that bothered because the research other things in the background and never lose money. Intel and AMD know each other as people who left Intel went onto start AMD. They talk to each other too about problems. It ain't like the other countries where they don't share issues.

Love the look of that case, and reviews I've seen were excellent, was really tempted but couldn't live without an optical Bay so went for the enthoo luxe. Just trying to figure out the best cooling layout atm, probably going to mount the rad in the top as I want to keep at least one of the front hdd cages in place, but not sure on exhaust/intake push/pull atm. Guess intake would be best for the cpu, but with only the one exhaust at the back may end up with positive pressure? Could put another exhaust at the Base (which I guess would help the gpu) but would have to lose the nifty psu cover. Also some have suggested that two 120's would be better at the front than the one big fan included. May take a bit of trial and error!

Phantex seem to be producing some of the best cases IMO And I am slighty worried about no optical but I have other systems in the house I can use if desperate and last time I put a CD into any computed was last year the the OH bought the hard copy instead of a digital download of some software to help her pass her theory driving test lol!
Apart from that there is always the option of USB drive if the other systems died all at once or something...I was looking at the lian cases but didnt want to lose that much space so this one fits nice and compact with plenty of options for watercooling upgrade and SLI after the bank balance recuperates.... (or the 1080 comes out :stuck_out_tongue: which I am praying is over priced and next year now haha!)
I'm thinking CPU rad on the top (if I have screws or it will be hung by an old coat hanger and some fishing line  ), and possibly the GPU rad on the rear and then put all the case fans on the front at the moment but yeah your right, little bit of trail and error to see how the system responds first....

looks like a hit deal. I paid as much for haswell i7-4770k when I did a new system build 2 years ago. really decent components

Hah not sure! Will be interested to hear what they say on that. Received both codes about 2 hours after ordering but might see if I can give one of them away if it can't be swapped.

All I have had so far is order confirmation so I am hoping they read the web note before they send me the code so should be a bit easier for them to make me a happier customer then  sure there will be some way of cancelling the codes and giving you a swopped one if it is at all possible...
If not maybe ebay could be an option...

ok so had a reply back from overclockers today, this is what I sent them:
Full Details:In the email I have received it says this:
- Asetek 240mm 570LX (35-101=C2=81-1012209) **PICK FOUR SCREW BAG PER COOLER**
I have ordered a case as well as the upgrade bundle, so my question is will I need more screws to fit the radiator or will they be supplied?
Also does the cooler come with thermal paste or will I need to purchase some?
And lastly with the free gifts I am to receive 2 codes for the Division (one from bundle and one from Graphics card) Is there any chance I could swop one for a code Fallout 4 code or something else please?
And they replied with this:
Thank you for your webnote,
Yes I can confirm that the screws will be supplied with the order and we will emailed you to confirm dispatch as soon as the order is ready to go.
Regards,
Sam M
So I guess one answer out of 3 isn't too bad
Maybe they are limited to one answer per web note or something?! did you get thermal paste sHAYM4N??
Mr_G13

Ok so if anyone is still interested the cooler comes with some stock thermal paste already applied but I went into live chat with the overclockers team (very helpful tbh) and they even advised to replace it with some Artic Silver or something simular, Artic silver 5 is currently on amazon for £4.95 as an 'add on' Item so cheaper and FOC delivery with orders over £20

Yep just finished my build & can confirm this, if you do go with the thermal paste on the cooler and still use a little thermal paste, I'd say use half or less than normal. Had to reseat mine after I'd missed the retention ring (no instructions on the cooler btw, seems a mix between the two designs here (http://www.asetek.com/company/support/installation-guides). Very simple if you've attached a cooler like this before. I ended up cleaning it all off and just applying some MX-4.
Found the rad fans not really suitable for pull unless you want to use it as an intake. The outer casing frame is not completely solid so they will flex and bend a little and with the weight of the rad wasn't worth it for me so switched them inside as push exhaust. Also found no fan screws with the bundle, (rad screws and plenty of washers though) luckily fan screws had been provided with my case (Enthoo Luxe).
So far so good, haven't pushed the system yet, but idle temps are around 25c @ 4.2ghz (with modest chassis cooling). If you order a 980 gtx with the bundle and receive a secondary copy of The Division, it unfortunately cannot be swapped, (and both offers are unfortunately via UPlay rather than Steam) but you can always give/swap the code with a friend etc..
Tested with the Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Xtreme last night and with BF4 Ultra settings was getting between 160 and 200 fps (albeit at 1080p) so really impressed there. Love the motherboard so far, Bios is so nice to navigate, looks really nice and the biggest surprise so far is the inbuilt sound which is really really impressive. Beats the Xonar DG card I was using before anyway!

"ELITE TIER SKYLAKE BUNDLE: INTEL I7-6700K @ 4.50GHZ, Z170 VIII HERO, 16GB 3200MHZ DDR4, HYBRID COOLE"
Skylake has landed! Are you ready to go?
8 Pack Overclock settings for this bundle, see this thread on our forum:

Point of comment: i gave up waiting for components to be released years ago (unless it was literally 2 months away). Even when they do get released, there is usually a hefty price premium for being the first to get your hands on them. It just aint worth it IMO.

An I7 CPU - overclockable to 4.5GHz
16 GB DDR4 RAM
A Nice motherboard
500GB SSD
Watercooling + fans
It's ideal for people with a decent GPU (graphics card) as they likely have a suitable case/PSU otherwise these things you'd need to add before having a fully functional PC.
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/specifications/
If your case fits and your PSU is suitable (should you be considering the overclock, see notes on the OCUK page) then this deal may be worth considering, as you could use your existing storage (as well as the included SSD as a boot drive)
cant wait for intel to loose out for once
Too late for me but this is cracking deal for somebody else. Great components at a great price.
- M.2 PCI-Express AHCI/NVMe native support
tsk tsk
But as people have said, Zen is around the corner so may as well sit, wait and see.
What you quoted means the motherboard supports an M.2, not that it's included in the bundle. Which it is not. There is a free 500GB Samsung SSD added on top of all the other items. So to answer the original question: the pictured M.2 SSD is not included.
We will stand tall
Face it all together
Let the Skylake
When it crumbles
We will stand tall
Face it all together
At Skylake
At Skylake
Save your money grab an i5 and a better graphics card. Ddr4 is not needed either but the price is dropping.
Nearly 700 quid when you could get a full pc with a 970 in it for that price, that would run all games at decent settings for ages...
One thing ive learned about pcs is that cpus last forever these days and i7s are not needed at all for gaming the performance increase is just not noticeable even on multicore supported games.
But pardon me if the interweb seems to concur. And for boys sitting in their rooms who don't want anybody to see what photos they're looking at.
After my unpleasant experience with there support would not use them again ever.
What's wrong with an overclockable CPU for games?
Never said anything was wrong i said people who game will want overclockable and people who dont wont it makes little difference and would generate too much heat
Many games benefit from a higher clock/higher IPC. Even DX12 games do. It comes with a 240mm water cooler so heat shouldn't be too much of a concern. I don't get what your point is here.
Second fail msi laptop sent it back then was accused of removing a stick of ram (which msi put under the keyboard )
Not ocuk's best moments :disappointed:
I need to sell mine now i7 3770k / H77 board / stock cooler and 16 gb ram
The deal says:
So radiator/watercooler wise no problem. I dare say GPU wise you're fine too, since most cards are less than 16 inches long, but please check your card.
Loving that things clearly got so bad that we can now label a 100W part as being low thermal output.
anyone.....
anyone........
GeForce GTX 980Ti Hybrid Black Edition but I can't find much on that version of the 980ti which is annoying....the few reviews out there are all positive nut I have never heard of this inno3d company, anyone on here had any first hand experience with them?
should make for a gd system build needing nothing else for a while though, just spending 599.99 on a hybrid 980ti is going to hurt if the prices drop by 3 figures when pascal is announced next month as the rumors are saying....
do I need to purchase additional screws or....
BTW this is the full order sheet from overclockers with break down if anyone is interested....

Any idea what you are going to do with your second copy of the division? I did ask them in the webnote if I could swop it for another game as it says email code, which in my eyes could mean that it is sent by overclocker's and not a card or code sent by the OEM... if I here back I will up date on here when I get a reply

Found the rad fans not really suitable for pull unless you want to use it as an intake.
