Is anyone else connecting their satellite dish directly to this TV? Hisense have confirmed that the Satellite EPG doesn't work on any of these TVs as they don't have a license to show the EPG on satellite(??) - basically I have no EPG guide and no way of knowing what the hell is on TV. I would have thought this could eaily be rectified with a simple software update, but this is not going to be the case - Hisense have said they don't have a license to show the EPG with Satellite and you will not be able to use the EPG if using a satellite connection (now or in future). This also effectively means I can't record anything using the PVR and a USB HDD as I can't time / schedule recordings with no EPG info. Great.

Got mine up and running yesterday as I had to redecorate and buy a new tv stand to accommodate, found the pitied to stutter a few times while watching something I was downloading and watching at the same time but apart from that the set is pretty good. I had an LG 55" smart 3D tv before that cost a lot more than this when purchased over a year ago, played PGA tour 2016 earlier and it looks superb, even SD doesn't look bad, looks more like it upscales almost to HD quality, Sky HD does look really good so presume it's been upscaled to 4K. Also tried you tube 4K demo vids and that works fine also, only gripe is the sound, very hard to get it set to something the wife thinks sounds right! My ears must be faulty cos I can hear it fine over her wining lol.

Now that people have had a chance to properly use their TVs, what issues have people found?
I've discovered some massive issues with mine and have found Hisense's customer services to be unhelpful. Firstly when I received my TV and the online update wasn't working, they refused to send me a USB stick with the firmware update, despite people saying to just ask them to do this and they'll send it out - have not found their customer services helpful at all.
They are also claiming that nobody else has reported any faults to them so I must be the only one with any issues lol - they are using that old chestnut as a basis of doing nothing to sort out my issues. If you have ANY faults or concerns with your TV, seriously get it on record and let them know ASAP so they are aware of the faults and can do something about it (Hisense UK customer services number is 0345 610 4199). It was pretty clear they are just fobbing people off and won't do anything to sort out any issues unless enough people complain about it.
I have the very latest firmware installed - mine is connected to my satellite dish as I have no other option (perfect internet connection and Satellite signal) and the EPG doesn't work - it's atrocious. I don't know what's showing on each channel unless I've switched to that channel at least once during the viewing session and there are countless channels... Even then, it will only show programs for that channel for the next couple of hours or so and certainly not tomorrow or anything like that etc. My Sky Box which I'm no longer using would update the EPG straight away without any problems. This TV with the same satellite feed has no EPG information. Their customer services basically couldn't care less and just have a list of excuses pre-prepared for anything you try and report - they refused to do anything about it saying the EPG doesn't work with satellite and that this is to be expected?? Eh? What a load of rubbish(??). They are refusing to even look into the issue. Is anyone else connecting directly to their satellite dish or getting problems with the EPG?
I have also experienced massive issues with the audio and video going out of sync. It's initially fine and then will randomly go out of sync for no reason - when it does this, the only way I can get it back is by changing channels and then changing back again. This happens all the time.
I've also connected a USB HDD and tested out the the timeshift and PVR - I would suggest you test it out on your own TVs - it doesn't work properly - every single time I've used the timeshift or PVR, the audio and video playback is completely out of sync - (100% failure rate) it's totally unusable.
Please make sure you test out your TVs properly and put them through their paces - I'm sure all the TVs have these issues and that this is crappy firmware or hardware - they won't accept there's an issue unless everyone complains. If you do have any issues with the TV being unfit for purpose, I would suggest getting it on record ASAP to be honest.
Also - make sure you test your TVs with some proper 4K content. If you have satellite there are some 4K test channels which are useful - still pictures at 4K look great and 4K video looks amazing when it works, but I have found it constantly gets noticeably jerky when watching 4K content to the point where it's not really bareable.

Ours arrived 22/3/16 REALLY impressed by the tv.
Picture quality look amazing.
4K is awesome.
Really nice looking in general (stand and frame)
Sound quality is awesome, it's actually better as standard as our old soundbar and sub!
Only quibbles
-Remote control is a bit annoying as works with a different kind of technology than the virgin TiVo remote...
-It's fairly heavy and awkward to carry due to its size.
Overall can't recommend this tv enough! Proper bargain at £559.

Anyone managed to get the DLNA streaming to work. My TV is conected to the network and the only option regarding anyview stream is that it is enabled, but my computer wouldn't discover it so that I could pair them. I want to test streaming my bluray movies directly without need for HDMI. Any step by step guide? I havent updated the Firmware (its out of the box atm) so could that be the problem? - dont have USB handy to update it manually and automatic states up to date.

I had the same thought about the 58. But decided that £180 was a big diff for 3inches and 3D which I have on another set and never use. Plus £370 was the most I was willing to drop on a hisense. Maybe your settings are causing the judder. Turn off the processing options. I made a lowball offer of £349 to start lol

I am deliberating wether I should go for it and return the 58 inch. I paid 550 including quidco so 180 quid difference for 3 inch?!. Is the 55 inch exactly the same model as this 58 inch or is it difference.
Also my 58 inch pic seems to shift ever so slightly every few seconds. So if u imagine a plane flying left to right on the screen, it jumps a frame every now and then interrupt the motion flow of that makes sense

No idea how so cheap. Mine got delivered and it was absolutely new, still with the manufacturer seal on the box. Paid through PayPal so I wasn't too bothered considering it's over £500 on AO. Oh and I watched alien, nice and dark and didn't see any bleed or anything, in fact upscaled rather nicely.

24 Mar 16#110
That doesn't sound good... I would have got an FALD set if I'd known the 3D was rubbish.
Has anyone with this TV contacted the manufacturers or AO about any issues their getting? I would have thought they would be releasing updates to sort this kind of thing out. Things like max brightness and greyed out options sounds like the firmware is not fit for purpose and desperately needs updating.
I noticed that there is a firmware update for this TV on their website - has anyone installed it and noticed any improvements in anything?

It is really bad on mine crosstalk everywhere and the 3d setting are greyed out u can't change anything !! Honest the TV goes full brightness to compensate for the 3d glasses dulling the picture and the white objects against black/dark backgrounds are the worst culprits ie gravity 3d bluray

I ordered this, came next day and is excellent, mine mainly for gaming and is superb, streamed content is as crisp as a high end Sony or samsung, black levels are amazing and I've have no bleed on my model, 3D is meh (gimmicky) and upscaling is there but not massively noticeable. standard def is, well standard but overall its a 9/10 for me.
beautiful design and a huge TV with 4k.

24 Mar 16#107
I'm a bit worried by the comments regarding the 3D. The 3D on this TV swayed me into ordering it. Is the 3D that bad on it? Is it worse than most other 3D TVs on the market or are people saying 3D in general is gimmicky?
Have people updated to the latest firmware and still found the 3D is rubbish?
If it didn't have 3D, I would never have bought this TV so it's not a small issue for me if it doesn't work properly.

I got the 55" one from fleabay for 370 notes. I will say I am pleasantly surprised. Hooked up and calibrated Xbox one. I use the usb to tuner with the Xbox no prob, HD channels good, SD channels bearable (this is the same on my main 4K Samsung which was 6x the cost). Gaming. Fine, no lag that I could notice. Then again im not a jacked up hyper mutant with superman X-ray vision. Just kinda normal eyes.
Nas streaming. Fine through the media app. All good. So for £370 a new 4K telly that gets the job done. Honestly, I can't yet fault this.

I've sent pictures away to Ao today they have been really good to deal next day delivery and all.for the money if can get one with no backlighting issues I would be happy as the upscaling does a pretty good job with 1080p sources some the BBC hd wildlife documentary look unreal tbh !! The 3d is crap though can't change any options even though they show up for depth and stuff , think the back light goes up to 100% in 3d mode and you end up with lots of crosstalk the worst I've seen !! ud maybe be better going for the curved 720 model.as it's fald

also pros - design. looks class. and ability to mirror cast, record freeview and the sound is immense ( I use a surround system but as standalone it's one of the best sounding TVs I've heard. definately gives the more mid range/top end a run for their money sound wise - but who would use TV sound nowadays n e way! ;-)

23 Mar 16#100
TV came today. excellent value for money. not perfect but the price represents a lot of TV for the money. as good as the sony 55 x850
pros; excellent 4k, upscaling (probably get more use from this) is brilliant. lots of TV for money. remote although simple has Netflix and YouTube buttons which are brilliant. ITS A 58 INCH SCREEN for under 600 quid! games are immense on ps4 in gaming mode (I'm no pro gamer but buy plenty of 1st person shooters, classics like res evil, last of us and Fifa etc)
cons: slight light bleed bottom left corner only (remember this is a 560 quid TV with ao march40 code) YouTube still only 720p (come on and hurry up with this!) not the best smart operating system but just buy your own fire stick, kodi, etc etc
Chef_uk
23 Mar 16#99
Got mine. SD quality is crap, HD is upscaled a little but not massively and I've yet to try 4k content. Smart features are ok and if it's your first time to experience smart features then you will be suitably impressed. I suspect more expensive tv's have this aspect linked though.
Picture Settings out of the box are appalling. I followed a YouTube video to set it up properly but still think there's some way to go. The TV has plenty of settings to play with though.
No firmware update is coming through though. Not sure why. V00.01.00a F1016 is the one on the TV. Is this the latest? Networked correctly so not sure on that one.
Overall the price for the size more than makes up for any shortfalls. The TV looks epic in the living room and with a bit more playing about I think I can get it up to a better standard.

Have never used AO before... What are people's experience of them when problems arise after purchase?
Got a weird long phone call from their staff days after purchase (hasn't been delivered yet) - they said they were checking the delivery details and it's nothing to worry about etc. but I found they were being very nosy and asking why I chose this TV and lots of other questions etc.I found their staff very weird and dodgy on the phone.
I asked them about the warranty that comes with the TV - he kept saying Smart TVs get viruses all the time which basically write off the TV - he was acting as if warranties don't cover this - then he said not to worry and they'll replace my TV if this happens - he said the warranty that comes with my TV is totally free and there's nothing to pay right now, but that after the first month it will be £6.99 a month and this will be taken automatically from my card???? I didn't know what he was on about and kept saying that I didn't buy any additional warranty and didn't want one as I'm protected by law anyway. He was saying I'm not protected by law lol and if anything goes wrong with a virus it will basically be bricked and I'll need a new TV. I told him to make sure I'm not signed up for any extra warranty but he just kept saying I'll have to call up after delivery as the system won't allow him to change it before then??? He also said if I do that I won't be covered for viruses etc. What the hell??

If bought through AO.com, how do I apply the narch 40 code. Do just enter the march 40 code on the AO.com website at checkout. AO.com seem to be the cheapest as Jl is selling for £9999, richer sounds £749 with 6 years warranty (better piece of mind with longer warranty).

Do anyone have any experience of AO.com's customer service as I understand Amazon is pretty good for returns. As the quality of these sets looks like it's variable I'm tempted to buy from Amazon to be on the safe side.

1.57% topcashback or 1.5% quidco on AO but nothing for Amazon, may help seal the deal for some

I have a 40"4k Hisense that I use as a monitor and it is very good.
Not sure if you can get this at John Lewis but if so they should price match and include 5yr warranty too.

Sensible answer - Yes it is. I bought mine for £699 from RS, but that included a 6 year warranty. 1080p performance and 4K upscaling is pretty decent, SD content is meh, 4K content is amazing, Jessica Jones being a good example. OOTB picture settings are pretty naff but if you're prepared to put the work in, it can be up there with the Samsungs and Panasonics. Black levels are amazing and local dimming makes a good job of getting deep colours with great fine detail levels. Definitely not as good as OLED but at this price, good enough. And there will a HDR software upgrade in the next few months giving even better colour reproduction.

I just made an offer of 350 on the 55 inch lol
Also my 58 inch pic seems to shift ever so slightly every few seconds. So if u imagine a plane flying left to right on the screen, it jumps a frame every now and then interrupt the motion flow of that makes sense
Has anyone with this TV contacted the manufacturers or AO about any issues their getting? I would have thought they would be releasing updates to sort this kind of thing out. Things like max brightness and greyed out options sounds like the firmware is not fit for purpose and desperately needs updating.
I noticed that there is a firmware update for this TV on their website - has anyone installed it and noticed any improvements in anything?
beautiful design and a huge TV with 4k.
Have people updated to the latest firmware and still found the 3D is rubbish?
If it didn't have 3D, I would never have bought this TV so it's not a small issue for me if it doesn't work properly.
Is this seller trust worthy
Nas streaming. Fine through the media app. All good. So for £370 a new 4K telly that gets the job done. Honestly, I can't yet fault this.
pros; excellent 4k, upscaling (probably get more use from this) is brilliant. lots of TV for money. remote although simple has Netflix and YouTube buttons which are brilliant.
I think that the lottery.
Did they will send You another one tv ?What you can say about the picture?
Did anybody have exactly that model? Is it good?If I buy tomorrow it will be delivered Friday or Saturday?

Is showing ooos
If bought through AO.com, how do I apply the narch 40 code. Do just enter the march 40 code on the AO.com website at checkout. AO.com seem to be the cheapest as Jl is selling for £9999, richer sounds £749 with 6 years warranty (better piece of mind with longer warranty).
Or
picture clicky
My only gripe is it is slow to power on :-)
Cheers.

The K700 is identical to this apparently
Surely this is a major issue as they're the main apps i use on my smart TV, can they be installed manually?
More importantly if I were to return one of these TV's due to fault or failure how good would the warranty be - are hisense known for good customer service?
Which I cant decide!
Which I cant decide!

For instance they say it should come with 1 pair of active 3D glasses and it does 2d to 3D conversion...

Why don't they just have display port!!
