They specifically list AO as one of the retailers they won't match.

Are these TV's (HiSense) any good for gaming? (lag times)
Franzkill to Tino_G
22 Mar 162#7
Very good. They actually release an update late last year the cut the lag time particularly in 'game mode' by 80%. Emailed the company bout a month ago and the rep confirmed another major update is due for early-mid April to further decrease the lag/input issues.
Personally I haven't had any problems at all. Of course some games are prone to issues than others so I think its best to try different ones, tinker about with settings and see whatever works best for you

I'd echo this. I have had the 55" version for a couple of weeks now and have been really impressed. The latest update adds iPlayer (to the existing Netflix and Youtube apps) and Amazon Video is meant to be coming soon. I've found the gaming lag speed to be fine, although I'm not a "pro" gamer.

Sounds promising. In my head I thought lag times etc would be a hardware issue and couldn't be rectified with a software update. Good to know HiSense are on the case. I can see this brand becoming a household name after the Euros. Seems their sponsorship may pay off! :man:

Oh one last question. I read on one of the other Hisense deals that they don't work with Amazon Fire TV stick? Surely this isn't true?! Can anyone confirm?

Dont see any reason why it shouldn't work with a Firestick. I know that The TV doesn't support Amazon Video but that is purely an app issue which is being addressed in the next update. Perhaps someone else could confirm about the Firestick

the lag time on a hisense is high sorry to disappoint you have been misinformed it averages between 40 - 55 m/s compared with sony, Samsung and LG they are awful.
As a strong gamer I advise avoiding for a casual gamer you should be ok

Quidco and new account discount makes it will be less then £340 which is lovely. considering brand new and 2 year warentty. Quidco already tracked it is at showing at lower amount but should go up to advertised amount once confirmed.. it is at 10% at present.

Quidco currently showing as upto 10% with only 1.5% for TVs, so your £5.99 will be the amount of cashback for this TV?

Which called it "Dismal" and gave it a poor 54% rating (subscription required).
I'm not sure how reliable Which TV reviews are though. They do seem quite harsh.
the tv I purchased for gaming and home use.... 18 m/s lag input with a great refresh rate one of the best I found for my budget not 4k though..... there was a great 4k LG but that was upward of 600 with a 9m/s lag input

I purchased a techwood 4k and a friend of mine bought the hisense. one word of advise, the only weakpoint both TVs have is the contrast ratio. expect to watch something like daredevil or batman in a dark scene. you won't see em
chegz60 to ayaz51

Just adjust the adaptive contrast level. I found on max the blacks are very dark especially on HD. Set mine to Medium!

Be careful with AO and hisense televisions I bought one a few months ago only to find out the specs don't actually match the TV but on the plus side they did offer me something with the same spec advertised for the same price

Well like I said it works perfectly fine in my experience. I'm actually surprised how well it upscales games even on my 360 and PS3. Role playing games like Lost Oddysey and FFXHD on PS4 are turn based so I can get away with popping 'Ultra Smooth Motion' on and it looks quite amazing.
By strong gamer I assume you mean Halo 5, latest Call Of Duty (which means you obviously have taste..) Battlefield etc which I haven't had any problems with AGAIN when 'Game' mode is used. Because I seriously hope there isn't anyone using it as a monitor for PC gaming.

Yesterday my son accidentally smashed my 50" Samsung plasma (model PS50C680) :disappointed: . To go through house insurance there's a £200 excess, plus the risk of an increased premium. Might sound a stupid question, but how does this Hisense TV compare to my plasma? I know my plasma is a 6-7 year old TV but from what I understand they still stand they're ground against some of today's cheaper TVs. I'm just trying to weigh up whether I'd be better buying a new TV or claiming through insurance... Any help appreciated!

It's because they can't I guess, they don't have the buying power of AO to compete.

The exact model is Hisense LTDN50K321UWTSEU. Richer sounds have it for £450, and the reviews seem decent:-
