Just watch season 1, pretend that's it and throw the other DVDs away
Don't buy it, you will get really into it and have to suffer heroes reborn which ruined the franchise and thankfully was cancelled

It wasn't cancelled - It was always intended to be a single season story told in the same world as Heroes, using some of the same characters. I believe Tim Kring hasn't ruled out doing some other Heroes spin off stories that will probably also be single seasons, just under a different show name
