I love Poland and have put together this great trip to Krakow and Warsaw. You'll fly from London to Krakow on 14 April where you will spend 3 nights in Krakow at the Bluebell Apartmenthotel a 4/5 rated TripAdvisor apartment right near the old town, ideally placed for exploring. Auschwitz is definitely worth a visit as well as the nearby salt mines all easily done on public transport. I'd also recommend the free walking tours around the Jewish quarter which are really informative and by licensed guides.
On 17 April catch the fast bullet train to Warsaw just over 2 hrs away. The tickets are yet to go on sale for April but you can book at www.intercity.pl on the fast bullet trains for just under £20pp. This is easy to do and look for the trains that are around 2hrs 20 minutes in duration. You can fly for a similar price but there are plenty of trains and I personally think it's more convenient. In Warsaw you'll stay at the Old Town Apartments right in the old town. Again these have great reviews and although you'll only have 2 days in Warsaw you don't leave until late at night on 19th so you have time for exploring the Old Town and I'd highly recommended a visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum.

I personally have never had a problem with Ryanair as long as you follow their rules. I'm probably lucky but every flight I've taken with them has arrived early!

Ryanair to be fair are fine for a 2 hour flight to Poland. As the other poster said have always been early. Some of my worst ever flights have been long haul with the horrible Thomas Cook

You can adjust the flights to suit it's just finding them cheap! They also don't fly as frequently of course.

Yes this salt mine is well worth a visit. Auschwitz, fantastic restaurant called Starka nr Jewish quarter with the biggest selection of home brewed vodka. plenty of bars nearby too in the Jewish quarter, some very quirky ones. The Royal Palace and Schindlers factory. As I said if you can get on one of the free walking tours then these can be really informative and also give some tips on out-of the box things to do.

Hot deal, heat added, but I might save my pennies and go to Boston instead.
Yep, buy the only Krakow tourist pass - it's cheap and it gives you 40 museums for free and free public transport (from the airport too). It's called Krakowcard. The tourist version gives you a trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine. And everyone kinda knows where is Auschwitz. Auschwitz location is near Krakow so don't forget to visit the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Have a good time, bro!

It's lovely isn't it? I wasn't sure I'd enjoy Warsaw but came back from there last weekend and loved it equally as much too.
