Morrisons have now matched the £4kg Tesco/Asda/Lidl price for fresh whole salmon (was £9.74kg) - and they always have plenty of stock
Typically 3.5kg
The offer runs for TWO weeks - 'till Easter Sunday (March 27th)
Also, my local Morrison's fishmongers are very helpful. They will ALWAYS top and tail and cut a whole salmon into 6 - 8 double portions, seal in 6 - 8 individual bags and put in a large bag with the whole salmon price attached
Quote from Morrisons website:
"While you shop…
We’ll prepare any fish you choose, so whether you fancy a whole salmon or just a fillet, our expert fishmonger can help. We can supply your fish whole, filleted, steak, or as a butterfly or loin – take your pick."

Thanks jimmybo, I got some tonight, there was some already prepared but I wanted a slightly smaller one with no head on tail on it  they were very happy to help, skinned and boned a full one for me and portioned it up in separate bags so I can freeze as well, great service from Morrisons

They've never refused to "Prepare any fish I choose" in my local Morrisons
Ask to speak to the manager and quote their "Market Street" promise - which doesn't exclude any promotions

I love the business model the fishing industry have of doing everything they can to put themselves out of business as soon as possible. Plus those that rely on fishing for a living and to feed their families should immediately find another food source and another job too. :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm aware they haven't, which is sad anyway. However, the fish these fish are fed with will likely have been wild fish - the purchase/consumption of them is still destroying the oceans.

These fish have never seen an ocean.

Think about what you're doing to the world when you choose to eat fish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW9fOEJ0vEs
Is it really such a "good deal" if it means there's no world left for your grandchildren?

Asked for what?
I've never had a problem with Morrison's fishmongers filleting these whole salmon - on offer - in my local store
They will even take a new whole salmon from their ice box (out back), weigh it and then top/tail/fillet and bag it while I shop in the store
Just ask to speak to the store manager if they refuse as it's part of their customer service "promise"

From my experience with the Whole Salmon deals over the last 2 years, Morrison's customer service and the quality of the fish is worth a 25% premium on the ppkg over Tesco/Aldi
Not sure about the quality of the fish in the Lidl deal (starts next Monday 21st March) - but there's no way to get the whole fish filleted and bagged up ready for the freezer via Lidl
