What happened with this game was such a shame - it's not that bad just lack of players.
Actually enjoyed it playing with friends.
The turn off would be the matchmaking which took ages, so haven't bothered since on PC.
Are there more people playing this game on consoles?

Do not buy this.
the servers are dead, and its a multiplayer game only.. it takes about an hour to connect to a game.

The main thing that annoyed me about this game is you spend almost as much time in loading screens as you do in an actual match.
Loading to search for a game > loading the game you searched for > loading character select > loading the loading screen > loading the level > finally get into game > Monster got caught in 2 minutes and died > Loading the score screen > Loading the after score screen > Repeat.

You would be better off buying left for dead 2 as it's backwards compatible and still has plenty of players.
Evolve was dead within weeks as too many selfish players not working as a team means you cannot win at this game.

Likely to be made free via PS+ and XBL Gold soon enough. That should hopefully help populate matches with more casual players.
I'd wait it out.

Agree, I was in at least a couple of the Beta tests they did and it was actually showing a lot of promise, so much so that I got the game when it first came out. The actual game isn't bad, it's the lack of proper content over skin packs and the need to work together, properly communicating, which has let it down.

If you watch TB's video, he does touch on its faults as well as its positives. Don't quite understand the test tube comment considering the alpha/beta testing they did for the game, i.e. a lot. The team thing was a big sticking point, though. Again, TB covers this in the above video.

It's also a game developed in a test tube. Real world playing with real people resulted in a game that struggled to get people playing as a tight team. It needs a tight team doing their role to win. Plus it can just end up in a running around a dark map for hours kind of experience... Which is ermmm... Boring.

A lot of people were peeved at the DLC. Because of this, the game got a really bad rep from day one. TotalBiscuit did a great video at the time it came out which spreads the truth on this game. Watch that - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYLpomTvDcQ
