I have one of these or a 12000 mAh one. It's a bit of a beast, but great for in the car or taking on holiday, or out and about in a bag . I wouldn't attempt to put it in my pocket though! Takes a while to charge, but holds charge well (several weeks) and charges devices quickly. The option to charge 3 devices at once is great. I also have a xiaomi mi power (or whatever it is). That's a "nicer" device and is just about pocketable. IMHO this is a great price for this device. They are just so handy!

Let's assume your 2% is correct (it's clearly not), then over 12 months that's 24%. A quarter is gone. That's not 'full charge' or '90%', which is what has been claimed. As I said, the reality is that you will be lucky to have half of it left after a year. Absolute bargain-basement cells (no-name chinese tat) will be 1-2% left.

Here's the good review on youtube of it if anyone's interested. He gets a bit over 13,000mah from it in direct translation terms, after power conversions, which is about right for the stated capacity. Each battery is 2600mah so this would be excellent even if pulling the batteries for other uses. This all assumes it's the same product still being sold of course.

Bought same one 4 months ago for less than a pound more. Appears to hold charge well for weeks and capacity rating is about correct. Big and heavy but a useful power pack if you need such a thing.

Sorry but you are assuming these are poor quality cells yes they may be do you actually own this battery ?
Good quality cells are now around 2% per month not just the mega expensive one,s
Yes protection circuits did use around 3% per month but things have changed its called progress

Yes there is some rubbish cells from china still but there are some pretty good ones as well

These are not 'good lithium ion cells', they are cheap mass-produced junk (hence the low price). 'good' lithium ion cells cost hundreds of pounds and are only used for top-end equipment (movie cameras, emergency, electric vehicles). Even they will not have 90% left at the end of a year, as they will lose 2% per month. Normal powder-rammed-in-plastic-bag lithium batteries such as the ones in this deal will discarge at 4% per month at least, as well as 5% in the first 24 hours. So after a year, that's a 53% loss (+12% if it has a safety circuit).
So NO, you will not have 90% after a year. Sorry.

I think the poster is actually referring to the stupid 2-tier pricing policy Amazon operate now, whereby everyone who gives them a £79 bung every year gets a different set of prices compared to Amazon's non-preferred customers (i.e. the majority who see through them).

Daft question; I have checked the Amazon 1 star reviews and most say that it only delivers about 12,000. Has anyone that has it checked? Also, the customer service is reported as terrible if anything goes wrong.

Just a word of warning.
You need to be careful if flying with these power packs. I recently had one confiscated at Bangkok airport because it exceeded 20000mah. I tried arguing that I had flown everywhere with it but they took it away and through it in to a clear plastic rubbish bag. There were quite a few other power banks in there already.
It was a nice piece of kit as well.

obviously... A 2a charger will do 2000mAh per hour, this is has a 22400 mAh capacity. minimum charge time from 0 - 100% would be 11 hours 10 minutes. I wouldnt recommend charging it with a 1a charger. (22 hours 20 mins) forget trying to charge this via a laptop usb port or with a cheap cable (500mAh) or you'd be waiting 44 hours 40 mins

I'm not sure that's true anymore. I bought a cable off of Amazon a couple of weeks ago for £2, and it both charges fast AND carries data.
Anyway, it's charging the actual battery pack that's slow. I've found charging my phones with this is really speedy!
Dingolicious
18 Mar 161#21
For those saying it takes ages to charge your device, this may be due to USB charging limitations on your actual device. My Nexus 5 is limited to 500mah over USB so connecting to a 500mah or 2A or 4A port with a standard cable makes no difference. You can however get a "Dumb" USB cable which has no data capabilities and acts like an AC charger rather than a USB charger, which bypasses such restrictions. An example of such a cable can be found in the link below, I'm sure others are available too. The important part is they carry no data therefore the device thinks it's AC rather than USB.
Fine for bag, not for pocket.
