One of my favourite games, but as you say, not a deal.

For anybody interested Sony are holding a Launch Party 2016 promo on their US and Canadian stores. This is one of the titles and weighs in at around £7.08 on PS4.
I'm not sure if we can expect to see the same on today's UK store update, but I'm going to take a stab at £11.99

The remaster will bring the game to a new generation... That deserves heat.

Any chance of a physical copy turning up at some point, like they did with Broken Age? Part of the nostalgia of these type of games, for me, comes from the old big box format.

Still have the original for this  such an awesome game. Doesn't need a remaster.

I remember this game so fondly, which is both a blessing and a curse. It means I will be able to fly through the puzzles in record (for me) time. Same thing happened with the monkey island remakes, but those gave me more for my money. Remade not just enhanced visuals and speech. Unless I'm wrong, DOTT is just enhanced visuals. Wonder if you can still play maniac mansion through the pc in Ed's room?

Apparently you can! "Includes full playable version of Maniac Mansion!"

Played this through many times and enjoyed it every time, one of my all time favourite point n clicks and would even probably rank it above the better known Lucas Arts titles like monkey island for the great humour, story/setting and animation!
However, I won't actually be rushing to get the remaster, simply because I have played it through a number of times and hence there probably wouldn't be anything new for me, yes the graphics would be all HD and stuff but i think the original 256 colour graphics still have a LOT of charm to this day.
That said, if it comes to PS+ in future (a decent chance I'd say) I would have to give it another playthrough of course.

Apparently you can flip between the new HD graphics and the original graphics on the fly (as per the Monkey Island remasters on last gen).

I saw this on GOG and had a strop about how I already paid for it back in the day and why should I pay again. Then I remembered I copied my mates copy (which was a copy in itself) and had my Dad photocopy the protection documents. It's one of my favourite games of all time, so I guess I owe them a legit purchase.
Since the game was quite cartooney, it's more a HD version than a remake (like Monkey Island) but it looks great. My memory isn't what it was so I'll have few hours struggling, GAMEFAQ has ruined the fun of tearing your hair out a bit. The time travel puzzles were great!

I love the style and sound of the original but find some of the puzzles so obtuse you'd never get through it without a walkthrough!

Loved every second of this game - would love a Sam & Max remake and also Full Throttle..
Full throttle remaster was announced last year. Sam N Max would be great too! If only Disney could dig out the cancelled follow up and finish it too! What I'm looking forward to is the characters appearing in Disney theme parks... Now that would be awesome... Updated Pirates of the Caribbean with MI characters added in! Tentacles taking over the park...

Correct, there is 10% off the pre-order so £10.79.
I would buy from the US but crossbuy with the Vita rules that out (as it is pain to have UK & US content on the Vita).

I love this game and it was always my favourite along with Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis... I later grew to like monkey island but I couldn't get over the lack of 'talkie' at first. I am trying not to play them though, so one day when I'm old I can play through them all again and hopefully I won't remember the puzzles! I am pretty sure I would fly through it now even though it's been about 15 years since I played it properly.
But I struggle to remember anniversairys and birthdays... My memory has strange priorities.

Amazing, thanks for this!! Do you think the MI series will ever be re-visited? Last I heard Disney now had the rights for that seeing as it comes under the LUCAS group. Wonder if Telltale will ever do another episodes version etc. Loved this game but the MI series were always my favourite. Looking forward to Thimbleweed Park too!

Was totally unawares this was being remade at all, never mind it's out in couple of weeks. Don't want to wait for a price drop as desperately want to play it now. I noticed this deal here on the way home on the bus and remarked "Jesus Day of the Tentacle is being remade" and got a weird look from some old woman haha.
Cheers.

Part of the charm was how it looked and thus I don't think it warranted a remaster even though what they have shown thus far looks good. I would have *much* preferred a new game in the series using the style of the remaster. For me, it's a Steam sale item only.

I think many are missing the point of this remaster, much like how the Monkey Island remaster was done. This comes with redrawn assets, and remastered audio, so it's not a carbon copy of the original. Like the Monkey Island remasters, it appears that you can switch to the original look on the fly, and on top of that it comes with developer commentary throughout the game. This is the equivalent of buying a feature packed Blu-ray of your favourite movie.
Opening post
Can't believe nobody has posted this yet!
Released 22nd March 2016
Wouldn't say a deal at a tenner but totally worth it! RRP £10.99
