I am a weekend road cyclist and looking for a good jacket. Whilst i popped into Lidl I found they had various promotions on cycling products . I bought this jacket and it feel like a quality product and looks good. If you are not a cycling fashion snob and need a jacket ,i think you will be happy with this. Hope this helps someone out.

Sweaty after only 70 miles. Sounds like you're out of shape....:smirk:

It's nothing to do with snobbery if you want to do 70 miles and NOT end up saturated in your own sweat! I use similar cheapo stuff for commuting but you'll essentially need decent quality stuff for sportives and the likes :sunglasses:

I agree . The price is low and it shouldn't be compared to products 2 or 3 times the price.

You will find it difficult to find this type of product for this price. I have actually bought one and the quality in my opinion is good. If you are on a budget i think this is a good buy

I picked this up Sunday and tried it on yesterday, quite happy with it. Also got padded shorts for £7 (I think) and a saddle bag with tool kit for £4.99

You pay for what you get.
For a short commute then the Aldi/Lidl gear is great.
For more serious efforts and longer distances then look at the more established websites/stores. Plenty of DHB at Wiggle for example only costs a few pounds more than Aldi/Lidle but quality is greater.
For wicking properties I only need to compare my Aldi jersey I wear under my jacket to my snob gear. The snob gear comes out of the machine damp whislt the Aldi jersey is soaking. The Aldi jersey tskes an age to dry whilst branded gear dries in minutes
This is nearly double the price if this garment and it doesn't look any better than this garment

I have Lidl/Aldi mtb/cycling gear besides other more named bits and can't fault Lidl/Aldi

I've got loads of Aldi\Lidl cycling and running gear. It's great value. Only problem is I've lost so much weight that even their smallest sizes are too big for me now.

Had quite a bit of Lidl / Aldi gear when i first started cycling. Perfectly acceptable for the beginner cyclist but after having used some better quality stuff (albeit more expensive) I wouldn't want to go back to the Lidl / Aldi gear. The socks are great though, as is the bike stand.
My experience is the clothes tend to go baggy in the places you don't want them to.

Seems to be the trend of late
The gear is getting worse
A few years ago it was comparable to the likes of the branded stuff
Now I just don't bother
Just as well the old great is holding out

I hope the trackstand pumps are better quality than the last one I bought from Lidl. It didn't take much for the metal in that one to bend. Quite poor quality and just had a crappy plastic feel to it.
And on reflection that last Lidl pump was bought to replace the foot pump I bought from Lidl which is still going strong but the pressure gauge on that one fell apart pretty quickly. You know when the back to the pressure gauge is a piece of paper that they're cutting corners.
It just feels like things have really gone downhill at Lidl. Remember those waterproof panniers that used crappy metal clips? They wouldn't have done that five years ago. They focused more on making them look like Ortlieb instead of making sure they were durable.
Just done my 30 miles for the day in this that I brought yesterday and only just warm. can't come close at even 3 X the price.
Got the Black/Yellow: 94% polyester, 6% elastane one the only slight thing i would say it was a tine bit long at the back but I'm so short but fit everywhere else.

Never tried Lidl cycling gear as there's an Aldi close to me, so I buy from there. They seem to have their cycling stuff come out at similar times-has anyone seen anything similar in Aldi yet?

You can never please snobs! I've bought one yesterday and it's a nice quality jacket. Good alternative to wear.

Owned a few over the years and I bought another yesterday. Good alternative for money but don't expect them to be breathable. You get what you pay for.

I cycle daily to work all year round and just about all my clothing is Aldi or Lidl. Been good for temperature ranging from -10 to 25c and from dry to absolute cats and dogs of rain.
