Thanks for the side-eye but I do have a tendency to make lists with my posts - I only added extra information because, back when I saw Phila4's original Deal a few months back, I'd never heard of Corelle.

I tend to break bowls especially (don't know why) and bought two replacements from Poundworld yesterday! Boyf is looking for new plates and I knew I'd read something about hard-wearing dinner sets somewhere. Got digging on HUKD and found them on Argos.

I try to make my posts as detailed as possible (unless I'm posting on my phone/in a rush and I can't add more).

TL;DR: No, I don't have any, and no, I'm not affiliated with Corelle, I'm just a bit OCD (trying to help other HUKDers).

Edit: I Liked your comment by mistake as I was reading via the app - it's a damn shame that some members choose to be sarky just because someone tries to make an effort. Sometimes I wonder why I bother!

Someone commented the same on the original HUKD thread, think it's something to do with the manufacture process.

"The glass lamination process used for Corelle® ware is ideal for making plates and bowls, but it unfortunately does not work well for cup or mug shapes. That's why we offer stoneware mugs with every Corelle® dinnerware set."

Our family have been using corelle for about 30 years. No one has any other dinnerware.
But we get ours from Canada. It's about 1/2 the price and we have plenty of family who come over from there to visit. These prices are extortionate but I guess there aren't many other options.

Nearly 40 years of use! That's amazing! I have random-patterned "orphan plates" in my cupboard because I break them now and again (the bowls have the worst hit rate). I'm tempted to order for myself now.

I haven't had a thorough look to see if there's US options but tried a few. The set I like, Memphis, Amazon US sells for approx £30 + over £20 P&P, then import taxes on top! Comes to just over £70! I'd assume ebay US would lump import taxes on at checkout too.

Can't comment on the quality but there's a lot of great reviews out there. Some are hinting that now World Kitchen own Corelle, versus Corning, the plates may have a slightly different formulation/manufacture method (?) but other reviewers dispute this. World Kitchen state that some of their designs are for the Asian market, so for those, the base plates are made in the USA, and the designs applied in Malaysia. Maybe that's where the confusion comes from.

Argos don't mention the 3 Year Guarantee Corelle offer (doesn't apply to the stoneware mugs, though), but I'd assume it applies to every customer. Much more variety on Amazon US, but you'd expect that.

The only thing that concerns me is that the dinner plates may be a tad small, re the comment earlier in the thread.
