Good price now but £27!! If I was drinking tea I'd have spat it out! Tesco and their sense of humour!

I would think so, as the "Tesco Value" brand was changed quite a while back to "Everyday Value"! There will be very limited stock of this phone.

According to Tesco they don't stick this item any more and have not done so for a while now

This was £4.50 in my local about six months ago, ended up taking it back as my sister simply had to change the batteries (using ordinary batteries in their handsets which is pretty darn stupid).
Here's what I found out about these solo handsets:
The main moans I can find about this phone is that it isn't backlit (which I would personally find annoying!) and some don't think the in-call volume is high enough. I'll report back if my sis is happy with the phone.

Comes with 400mAh batteries apparently (though you can use higher capacity batteries to increase talk time) http://tgr-review.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/tesco-awb001-cordless-digital-telephone.html
Edit: Also, the memory only stores 20 numbers.
