definite market for CC. Nice little gizmo which can turn your tv into a 'smart tv'. credit to Google for product. If Apple had designed, people would be fawning over it. Like the CCA, kudos to Google for making tech allows older tech to be used with these products.

Ignore the people replying saying no, just google it, yes you can easily get it to stream from Kodi.
it's not the same but i've been using one for a while now and stream from plex and it works great.

You can't put anything on it. Think of it more like a wireless HDMI cable.
It doesn't work like that in practice, but if you're unfamiliar with the technology that's an easier way to visualise it.

I gave my chromecast to a friend, have amazon fire stick and my sound bar has miracast but I am still going to buy one as chromecast is very convenient to use.

Chromecast is such a great device. If there's anything you can't stream to your TV because there isn't an app that supports Chromecast, you can just use the chrome browser and cast the tab! Or even your whole desktop if you like. Just one of the many reasons to get a chromecast. Using your phone/tablet is so much more intuitive than using a remote imo.

chromecast is basically just a casting device,a fancy wireless hdmi cable (almost),whereas with same amount of money you can get a full on mini computer,with cpu,memory and storage and proper remote that can do much more independent of your phone,(amazon fire tv stick).

Maybe I'm missing something but the Fire TV Stick is £35...
Not even close to the same price.
I wouldn't put too much faith in Amazon.
I bought a Fire TV box for the sole purpose of Plex via ethernet but eventually an update rendered it unusable for Plex. Had to sell it as no update came in a reasonable time frame.
