Been available for 2-3 weeks, sure talktalk has got a bad reputation for its mobile side and customer service is supposed to be poor but with £45 possible via quidco its got to be a good deal. Just transferred three mobiles to this, all have gone through ok keeping same number. Hot from me.

At this price combined with the typical cashback from the usual players I would consider it whenever TT finally implements its move to o2 - assuming that ever materialises!

Yep I only have there mobile contract for 4 sims. Cancelled my phone and TV contract when I moved to Virgin Fibre.
Only thing you need to watch with TalkTalk is the data caps. I went over my data cap while in Chester once and they suspended all my Sims and said I had to pay £211 for 2gb Data. Left me and the wife without phones for a day. After threating to leave they reduced it to £93 so I paid that and they reinstated my mobiles. A lot more screaming and shouting to leave them they refunded £48 more. I possibly could have got the last £45 back but I got fed up with phoning their help line. Beware.
Afaik they are owed by Vodafone so don't think they will change network.
Sorry thought it was talk mobile they are owed by Vodafone.

Good offer but talktalk is ****. Worst customer services, worst speeds, its a death trap

23 Mar 16#24
Had no problems with their customer service, were actually very friendly and offices were in London.
Agree with speeds/coverage being **** though especially data I found to be practically unusable.

I signed up for TalkTalk broadband in December and have just emerged from the total shambles they made of my switching to them.
The actual service has been OK but billing has been a total fiasco, and even when I managed to establish email communication with the CEO's office the staff member I dealt with was incompetent.
Do not deal with TalkTalk.

Voted cold... Had these guys for our mobiles whilst the bundles are 'good', the internet is shockingly slow everywhere. To the point you can barely use it. If you never use the internet for minutes they're OK. but I'm certain most people like myself use chrome, maps etc. Steer clear of them. I'm now with three, their customer service is painful but you get a good service, decent bundles, 4G & use phone abroad, same as at home. Much better.

I have taken out this deal, when TCB was at £45.00. The TCB tracked within minutes, though only for £42.00. A mate of mine did the same deal when the TCB was at £63.00, hers tracked at £33.00. Not sure what is going on, but regardless of that, the Talk Talk deal is hot, and comes with a decent mount of free money too. Voted HOT HOT HOT
steevieboy4u
23 Mar 16#31
How can anyone vote this cold?........It's potentially £3 (£63 via TCB) for a WHOLE year of 1000 mins, unlimited texts and 3 gb data (3g) every month, even if the data is slow, who cares? If you need fast data get a different tariff but don't vote cold on this just because it doesn't suit you, this will be ideal for loads of people.

23 Mar 161#33
If you ever have the misfortune to deal with their customer service you will get a vivid insight as to why some people are voting cold. The price is unbeatable but the call centers (all the ones I have dealt with were outside the UK) are shockingly poor. Yes they are very polite and always 'sorry' but incredibly incompetent (make sure you are sitting comfortably when you call and be prepared to get passed around to various departments, all of which need to go through your security details and expect you to relay your issue each time. There is also very little likelihood that your request/issue will actually be sorted despite various reassurances. There is a reason they are cheap.

I am with Talk Talk on a roll over sim at £12, can I still go for this deal online via TCB. I filled it in on line then when I got to the confirm page was concerned that I would get charged 2 Direct Debits. I phoned Talk Talk who said I couldn't get this deal on line and they would do it for me. Can anyone tell me if I can do this on line then I can claim TCB.
Meteoor to shanikang
23 Mar 16#44
I also rolled over. As was explained in the thread when this same deal was posted 3 weeks ago: you buy a new sim via the website (ensuring go through QC/TCB). When it arrives you call them and ask them to transfer your existing number onto the new sim which they do while you wait. That that point you old contract and sim stops.

I've had no problems with Talktalk and have been with them for a couple of years now for TV, Broadband, home phone and mobile. Currently pay £6.50 pm for 700mb so I will be ringing them later to see if I can get this deal. Also had no problems with mobile data when out and about maybe its people handsets rather than coverage? Anyway hot for me great bundle for the price, still cannot believe some folk pay upwards of £30 pm! :sunglasses:

23 Mar 16#40
Had no problems with the service either. Line fault developed last week meaning broadband wouldn't work and engineer visit was less than 12 hours to rectify it. Not like any of the other providers are any better so why pay a premium for the same crap customer service across telecoms industry
sb1970
23 Mar 16#41
Have 3 of these £5.50pm sims with TalkTalk all getting upto £63.00 cashback through Top Cashback. Yes the customer service is 'hard work' but if your patient then it's not too bad. Like others have said the other providers can be just as bad.
Just remember that once the 12 months is up this tariff goes upto £15.50 per month.
Put it in your diary or on the calendar to call TalkTalk next Feb/March and get them to offer the same or better deal to keep you as a customer otherwise move on to a better deal.
In my experience they will do their best to keep you on the same deal for as long as they can.

Can you add a safety buffer.?
UPDATE!
I just called TT, you cannot apply a safety buffer, they will not even allow you to set a limit either.
After 12 months the price goes upto £15.00, so you need to cancel at the expiry date, you are then left with having to sort out another contract.

24 Mar 16#60
Yeah a lot of people are easily confused by this. Carphone warehouse sold that to Vodafone, wonder how long before IDMobile is sold  That's the problem with MVNOs, once the main carrier finds out your taking their clients and losing huge money they'll increase pricing for them forcing to sell out.

24 Mar 16#61
What i can't work out is Talk Talk use to be owned by Carphonewarehouse and was Demerged from them to a public company so does that mean CPW still own it because you can't just give it away i don't understand how it works.

If your current providers contract is over, good time to see what they can offer you as a comparison to this offer. 3 offered me unlimited txt, unlimited calls & 4GB of data (can tether 4G connection) for £9.00 12month contract after mentioning this offer.

24 Mar 16#64
Similar experience, over £200 charge for a few minutes over data allowance despite clearly saying £15 limit on my bills, any company that is happy to do this should not be trusted, this is how they make their money, usually from teenagers I'd guess
Da11as
24 Mar 162#65
That is exactly how they make their money.
I went on their live chat earlier, I also called them and asked the question can I set a cap limit. Both times the answer was 'No', TT do not cap contracts.
Its wrong really, especially when you think about it... Its your contract, you are asking to cap the spending on your own contract so you dont get into debt, (you are being sensible and managing your account so you dont over-spend).
I'm sure a telecommunications provider cannot refuse to set a cap if the user requests this.
