HUKD thought process
- whoa, that's cheap
- look, everyone else agrees
- if I don't get it now I'll miss out
- but I don't need 18 bars of chocolate
- however, I could give them to mum, dad, brother, friend, postman etc and share the joy
- how can I resist? Chocolate for me and happiness for those I give it to
- but I don't need it
- but it's a bargain
->
A) meh, sod it, let's buy it
B) ok, reality is I don't need it & I can have £9 in my bank account waiting for next time I really do want a bar of chocolate & can get one from hotel chocolat & still have change. And I won't be so fat. And I won't feel so guilty. And I won't feel so sick. Ohhhhh but I miss the buzz of a bargain...no...stay strong. You don't need it or really want it. Move away from the computer. Forget about it 2 hours later.

I love how desperate the marketing teams are getting 'spring edition'. Still relying on gullible consumers though

That's Mondelez for you. Since Kraft bought Cadburys the Mondelez division of the company has always been marketing the hell out of the chocolate, whilst changing the recipe and putting less in each bar.

Quality price, HOT. Chocolate keeps fresh forever in the fridge, not that anyone has ever had enough resistance to prove it.

I've had a bar in my fridge for 7 months. I only just dared eat some last week. But it is the 50g bar of Lindt Excellence 99% cocoa/cacao one

I don't touch their products if I can avoid them, although I am guessing they also own Green & Blacks now so can't completely dodge them.

Is not quite as bad as Mars Bars. Bought a 4 pack of "full size" bars from supermarket last week and they were honestly closer to fun-size Mars Bars.
And what about Space Raiders 10 pack of crisps. I eat the 10 pack in one go, which amounts to about 1 packet of crisps. A packet of crisps used to be 40g or 35g. Then 30g became the norm, now we are seeing 25g and 18g becoming very common. Those Space Raiders must be down to about 5g now.

So bearing the Iceland deal in mind - where buying 18 from there would also cost you £9, and you can only gain access to the £9 deal if you're an Amazon Preferred Customer, and would otherwise pay £13 which is more than at Iceland......Hard to see how Amazon does any better? Also I'd have to wait for them to arrive having been nicely bashed around a bit in transit. Nah.

No one said it's a better deal. It's handier for me as I don't have a local Iceland, I have student discount & prime.

Space Raiders now down to 13g each now in the multipack, KP ripping people off badly. About a week ago I opened one "13g" pack and had only 6 crisps in them, 5 had no flavouring on them but I found out why as the last one was literally the flavouring shaped like a space raider crisp. Decided to eat that in one go and my God was it sour, nearly burnt my tongue off lol!

They do but minimum order £25 and only free if you spend £35, so actually spending more than needed if you just wanted these.

Thanks OP, have ordered. Seen these at £1.50 a bar or £1 on special offer at Tesco, so a good saving. Not sure why it takes 2-4 weeks, hoping it'll be sooner. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bought it.
Thought about it.
Cancelled it.
I realised that buying 1.8kgs of chocolate on a whim because it's a bargain is a bit obscene
Good deal, but I've come to my senses.

Not to the Highlands & Islands they don't...be more likely to get something from Iceland the country than Iceland the shop here...hence the reason I've gone for the Amazon deal...in fact must admit I've bought several lots of the chocolate not only to eat but to use in baking as I loathe cooking chocolate...
