Downloading to DVD isn’t possible! - You pay them but you don't own it. What a rip-off.
Even better if the DVD is £13. That's a hot deal in itself. Gives a better reason to buy it and not moan about the streaming cost.
The 'already paid' argument is nonsense. All broadcasters have resold content since the days of Tape. If you don't llwant to pay for it, wait for the repeat.

I thought the BBC was supposed to be making archived broadcasts available online. What wasn't mentioned was an additional paywall.
If you're paying for media; fine. I expect to pay (be it tape, disc or other)
If the program isn't a BBC production or owned by them; kinda fine, but why are they commercially selling this?
If it's a BBC property that's already been funded, and we make our yearly contributions towards; not really fine.
So what's the idea for the BBC now? Turn into some subscription / rental service, subsidised by a mandatory licence fee that doesn't get you anything until you pay the content or subscription fee as well?

Urghhh......okay thanks for the reply. As bad as Sainsbury's really. I can't be bothered waiting for stuff to download then having to burn it or run through the thousands of files on my hard disks just to watch that particular .avi. The most ridiculous thing about Sainsbury's stopping selling physical media by post is that they still then sell it in their shops! "Oh you can't buy the physical copy anymore, sorry. Oh except here it is - buy it now!"

Fantastic deal. A fiver for 18 hours of some of the best TV made. If you want it on DVD then toddle off to Amazon an pay your £30.

If it is the full set it is 24 half hour episodes plus a 43 minute Christmas special and special and boring 'making of'.
Streaming 13 hours of SD video shouldn't cost more than 10p and I and the other license payers already paid for the content 30 years ago. So no it isn't a fantastic deal it is a rip off even at 1/4 of the normal price.
The Beeb and other copyright holders will continue to rip off fools while they continue to think deals like this are 'fantastic'.

I can't imagine anyone who is interested enough in bargains to be on HUKD is daft enough to pay £30 for it on DVD when it can be had for less than half of that on DVD...

I don't want non physical film formats, bbc could not be trusted with the kindle format (& likely others) for viewing,...any problems will be long & drawn out till resolution OR simply ignored what does it say about non playable media loops?
