Bought one of the saddles today, the trekking version. Its one of the most comfortable bike saddles i've owned. Also bought the track pump, which seems pretty good for its cheap price and at least has a steel tube, instead of the crap plastic tubes that are usually on cheap track pumps. Inflates to over 100 psi with ease.

Have to say very impressed with the stand, perfect I feel for my needs. Used the £5 off £40 voucher in the Saturday mail, so even more of a bargain.

Just as a counter opinion, I've been using it pretty much weekly with a reasonably heavy mountain bike for the last two years (maybe more) with no problems. I've even used it as a washing stand and left it outside in the wet / cold for weeks at a time with no issues.
As I said in my post up the page, the biggest issue is the screw for adjusting the angle of the main clamp.

Of course it's from personal experience. I wouldn't have commented otherwise. I need to use a stand regularly for home mechanic use maintaining my own bike. Mainly fitting parts and fine tuning derailleurs.
It's the plastic fixings that let it down. A metal clamp is far better for regular use in that it won't break. I returned my Aldi/Lidl stand (they're the same) for that reason.
I did say they would be fine for very ocassional use, but if you're wanting a stand for regular maintenance work then it'll let you down.
I thought the same as you, in that you can't go wrong for the price. Give it a go but keep the receipt safe as you'll be needing it if you use the stand on a regular maintenance basis.

Fair enough , thanks for the reply. I will definitely keep the receipt and take advantage of the 3 year guarantee if things go wrong.

The stand is crap for anything more than very, very occasional use. The plastic clamps and handles just aren't up to anything more. Keep your eye out for the entry level Park Tool stand. It goes for around £65 including postage if you keep your eye on the internet.
Thanks for the links and heads up guys.

Interested to know is this from personal experience as the feedback on previous deals posted on here are mostly positive. Also Google brings up positive reviews on many bike forums.
Think I will take a chance for the money and see how it goes.

Additionally, I've tried the majority of the Aldi and Lidl cycle stuff and very little stands up to much.
The only two things that I've bought that are any good, and that I'm after buying again was the Crane £3 skull cap and the CO2 tyre inflater and spare cartridges for £10. Both worth their weight in gold for winter conditions.
I really wouldn't bother with anything else they have to offer if you intend to use it regularly. For occasional use however, everything is fine.

I don't suppose anybody knows when the Aldi cycle special buy is?
Historically it used to be around the same time as the Lidl one.
Aldi's website used to be like Lidl's where it previewed the coming weeks special buy events, but they have removed this feature.

Its still there..

It's a good stand, I just wish they'd change the bit that allows you to change the clamp angle. Tightening it with that screw is a pain, and it's very hard to get it tight enough to stop a heavy bike tilting.

I've had this for a while, and it's great! The legs fan out wide, so there's no chance of it tipping over, no matter what the weight of the bike.
