Atleast one person will read that and believe those empty words make the screen better somehow.
Well something like 4k doesn't matter if the parts made it aren't as good and this may be 1080p but could beat higher resolution monitors.
Most people though would be sheep and just see the it as 1080p and therefore worse as the general pubic believe things they are told.

I bought one of these for my son, he uses it with his PC and his Xbone.
Picture quality is good, viewing angle good. 1080p is a little low for so large a monitor when used with a PC at a normal distance, but great as a substitute TV (hard to get a good quality 27" TV with 1080p).
It carries sound over HDMI, and the built-in speakers are passable, it has aheadphone socket (to which I connected external speakers).

I'm a bit out of date on monitors. Is this VA panel better or worse than IPS?
taras to kalico
18 Mar 16#14
ips = slightly better of side viewing (you can see colour shifts) its not as bad as tn or va. Black are an issue with ips
va = better blacks, only 1 or 2 degrees less viewing and the colour shift is slightly more noticeable (more so in some colours) tn, has the worst colour shift issue !

VA better contrast IPS better viewing angles both VA and IPS are nice

No good for gaming due to lag though.
Would consider it if the panel was faster.

Can you recommend a decent low end TV/monitor for gaming? If there is such a thing!

hahahahhaha
it has like 7ms of lag. most gaming tv's have around 40ms and are fine.
you don't know what your talking about

Good price, however at this size a 1440 screen does make all the difference.

I had 2 of these side by side for about a year, at this price, just buy, they are excellent if you like good contrast and beautiful colors for office, programming, movies. If you are a hard core gamer, you know better than me what you need

How about photo editing, do you think these monitors have good enough colour quality for that too?

I'm going by what I read in a review at tftcentral. And I'm not comparing it to a TV but IPS monitors etc. The fact you don't understand my argument don't make it right or wrong. Only proves your ignorance.

The fact you don't understand the review is worrying.

Lag Classification
To help in this section we will also introduce a broader classification system for these results to help categorise each screen as one of the following levels:
Class 1) Less than 16ms / 1 frame lag - should be fine for gamers, even at high levels
Class 2) A lag of 16 - 32ms / One to two frames - moderate lag but should be fine for many gamers. Caution advised for serious gaming and FPS
Class 3) A lag of more than 32ms / more than 2 frames - Some noticeable lag in daily usage, not suitable for high end gaming
Int he real world though is 2 frames of lag going to matter at 32ms. Nope because game skill is the most important factor. Then you have internet lag too, etc.
Total Display Lag (SMTT 2)
8.3
Pixel Response Time Element
5.45
Estimated Signal Processing Lag
2.85
Lag Classification
1
Class 1
So they put it under Class 1 let me just remind you what class 1 means again from the top;
Class 1) Less than 16ms / 1 frame lag - should be fine for gamers, even at high levels
Fine for gamers even at high levels.
So even if your the mackadaddy of online gaming this monitors miniscule amount of lag is going to make no difference to something with zero lag.

Without a doubt, these are true 8 bit panels.
You can't go wrong with them.
