True, but then again if the sales of cheaper less reliable products start to decline that in itself could have the same effect and it would be less hassle than having to argue with the manufacturer and the cost of taking action which is not guaranteed to suceed

We bought a Beko Washing Machine, Tumble dryer and Cooker two years ago from AO.com, Washing machine went wrong just outside the years warranty took ages and many phone calls to get them to honour the Sale of Goods act and arrange a repair, the cooker then went after 18 months, warranty was 2 years on that so called them out. Its just gone wrong again with the same fault. Probably better customer service if they have a shop you can go and shout/cry/plead in. Ao couldnt have cared less about it - though they did offer to sell us a new one!

I thought about them and LG of course, but I had lost the will to continue by then. Big South Korean firms, like their Japanese counterparts tend to be highly vertically integrated, ie they dig the iron ore out of the ground to make, etc until they own the retailer in the high street, as Panasonic and Sony do.
Hitachi, for example, make steel, build ships and build particle accelerators, like CERN, and subcontract to the like of Mitsubishi and Panasonic who are vertically integrated themselves. Zaibatsu or Keiretsu in Japan and Chaebol in South Korea. Tata in India is possibly another example of it. It is basically unheard of in the West.

Is amazing - all this talk of Brexit and how we are doomed if we do and won't be able to sell to Eurozone without massive Tarriffs - Turkey has a 'total free of Tariff access to EU' deal and has for years - hence BEKO stuff always so cheap...

I can't be 100% but I think it was around £100 for 2 years extra cover on our washer dryer. They also made a big deal of it including accidental damage cover and repairs for problems caused by user error.
I didn't bother because I work for a rather large appliance manufacturer and a lot of the bits that can go wrong can be replaced with universal parts.

Will never buy Beko again after our Beko dishwasher developed severe rust problems just after its 2 year warranty expired. Beko customer services were uninterested to the point of being rude. They even insisted the product only had a 1 year warranty even though our manual stated it was 2 years. So if you are OK with rust issues and awful customer services, go with Beko otherwise in our experience stick to a brand that cares more.

Purchased a Beko to replace my Samsung, and although the machine is lovely and does its job you can see where they save money.
For example on mine there is no emergency drain hose, so in the event of a blockage you are going to have to use every towel you
own to drain the appliance and run the risk of ruining your floor if you have laminate, lino or carpet.
The manual said it should have one and tech support said it should have one initially but them came back to say the latest model did not.

Ours is a washer dryer and with the drying cycle it takes nearly 6 hours for a standard 40c wash and dry. It will probably have a quicker programme available for non soiled clothes though have a check for that. Ours has a quick refresh programme.

I agree, my family have a small Beko fridge and freezer, both been running for at least 12 years with no issues and never defrosted (does need it, but my dad can't be bothered). In my opinion low end Bosch and Beko is generally very reliable. The market demands it, in the same way a basic Skoda or low end Toyota will run for years without issue, but the higher end models are more complex and go wrong more often because that part of the market will accept that to a larger degree.
The products that do go wrong are the mid range more complex products, that are still built on the same platform, in the same place, as the basic model but have more bells and whistles like higher spin speeds, more modes, LCD screens instead of a dial and so on. The companies know that the sort of people that buy mid range stuff can afford to get it fixed or have warranty packages and will upgrade every 5 years or so anyway. I am pretty sure Beko is built in Turkey, most low to mid range Bosch, AEG, Siemens, Zanussi etc is made in Spain or Italy, and I dare say former eastern Bloc country's.
Very High end Bosch, Siemens, Miele are built in Germany, or in the case or Gorenje, Slovenia. But it doesn't always mean it's better. And if those LG Direct Drive Inverter machines are so good, then why do so many people put them on ebay, often with faults and error codes?. Why don't all other manufactures, including the commercial machine makers, use the same technology in their machines rather than conventional belt drives?. I am probably being unfair, but I view Hoover, Indesit and Hotpoint as inferior machines, but I have no real evidence as to why, just gut feeling.
Anyway HOT deal, nowt wrong with Beko in my experience. Though do be sure to look on ebay for used, refurbished or graded machines, some amazing bargains to be had.
