Fantastic price for great quality tyres. Price includes balancing etc
Link should take you to the Halfords Autocentres website. From there, just search the aforementioned tyre size and it will show up.

Good price as long as they don't use it as a loss leader in order to 'advise' of other 'defects' in order to get you to part with more cash!

Happy with Avon's  needed 2 new fronts to replace the Coopers I had on. No additional sales pitch from Halfords either

I searched for some 15" dunlops, and they have an offer where you get a £15 Amazon voucher or 2 cinema tickets for every pair of tyres:
"Two free cinema tickets OR £15 Amazon vouchers with every pair of Dunlop tyres"
15" dunlops are £43.99

got these on my scenic and Volvo. very long lasting and good all year tyres. these are decent for everyday motoring. if your thinking of throwing ba car round corners at speed then think high end sports or equivalent. these will do the average driver fine. I paid more than this last year so hot from me......especially when I have a discount card as well

Recently had new tyres fitted by Halfords but unhappy with balancing. When I returned a couple of days later to have them checked I was told that they didn't have the adaptor available to do centreless balancing. Waited a week to be contacted and ended up getting Costco to do them. Then emailed the receipt to Halfords customer services and got immediate refund. Also, they haven't got kit to do 4 wheel alignment.

Avon wouldn't be my 1st choice though.

every tyre will give diff mileage depending on car / driving style / journey types / tyre pressures find what works best for your driving. my zafira would go through front tyres every 6 months, but then I didnt buy hard wearing I wanted grip dry/wet as the priority followed by road noise

I was only giving my experience of Avon fitted to a 7 seater Galaxy. They're not up to the job (Dunlops too weren't great).
Fitted on my Astra though (I can't remember when the last ones were changed) would probably be fine.

I thought the same to be honest. But no point arguing. For you to get only 7000 miles with these tyres you must be doing doughnuts and hand-break turns to work everyday.

So you're saying a 500 mile journey at 70mph has less wear rate than a local weekly mileage of say less than 100 at 30mph ?
Erm, don't think so.

they are OK with tyre fittings etc, really cannot go wrong with anyone fitting tyres , tracking is hit and miss with most tyre fitters, some are trained better than others and spend time getting it right. plus if your car is modded etc with suspension then a speacialist that understands this would be better, l;et you take car for a drive then come back and make minor adjustments if required

the part where you say "500 miles a week on motorway" explains it then.. because motorway driving has less wear on tyres or any parts of a car. local driving is the killer for car parts

A branded 16" tyre fitted for £44 and people are complaining. Only on HUKD!
Not used Avon for a good few years. Never seem to buy the same tyre twice as always find something I don't like. My last set (based on people's thoughts) were rainsport 3's. Seem pretty good in the rain and were a good price. Bad points the tyre movement is high (guessing due to soft sidewalls) but the main point is the horrible noise and feedback on turn in on dry roads. So on that note my search continues...

This is a slightly strange thread. One of you might be driving a Skoda Citigo and the other a Toureg. One dropping kids off at school a mile away, one commuting a fair whack through country roads then dropping off half a rugby team at the club. Your mileage may vary, and needn't reflect your driving style.
Avon are fine, but you pay more, you get more miles. That plateaus after a point. So you make a value judgement. Replacing your car in a year? Then maybe the Avons are the way to go. Trying to run it into the ground? Shop around.

I have 4 ZV5's on my car. Done 25,000 mile son them now. Front 2 will need replaced in about 5000 miles. Back two in about 10000.
No idea why you got so little. I drive 500 miles a week on the motorway. Great tyres. Excellent in the wet as well.

Low end is harsh, but they are mid range at best.
Not in the same league as Pirelli, Goodyear or Dunlop.
For the sake of 80-100 quid extra for all 4 (when they're on offer) every 15k miles, it's an absolute no brainer to get the best of the best as far as I'm concerned.

I've had 2 sets & the last set lasted 17000 plus miles before selling the car with plenty of life left in them, I don't drive like an idiot though so tyres will last as long as your drive sensibly.
