Single malt Scotch whisky
Auchentoshan American Oak ages gracefully in first fill North American bourbon casks. The result: a smooth and complex Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with notes of white peach and smooth vanilla cream.
Making it all worthwhile
To the eye - Bright gold.
To the nose - Bourbon vanilla and coconut with layers of zesty citrus fruit.
To the tongue - Refreshingly smooth yet lively with vanilla cream, coconut and white peach.
To the end - Crisp, with sugared grapefruit and a hint of spice.
One last thing - People here say 'ock-un-tosh-un', Translated from the Gaelic, it means 'corner of the field'.
Fine American Bourbon Casks
First fill North American oak casks are perfect for maturing Auchentoshan. Where once they held bourbon, now we trust our spirit to their care.
In the dark chill of our warehouses, patient years follow. Then after maturation, there is even more to be revealed: we carefully marry these casks to create the crisp citrus nose and unmistakable smoothness of Auchentoshan American Oak.
Auchentoshan stands alone. Born in 1823, we are Scotland's only remaining distillery to insist on triple distilling every drop

A malt with bourbon notes for £20 sounds great, but I also didn't like the taste of this one. It's a bit odd, though I found it a bit more like a subtle mouthwash, or germoline. I can't recommend this to the casual buyer - if you want a bottle from Asda, in my opinion the Bushmills blend or Bulleit Bourbon would make most people a lot happier.

Bulleit is a good shout, a smooth, quality tasting whiskey which is regularly £20.

they have to tripple distill because they use water from Glasgow...

Heat for the deal - a really nice blend for the money
Same price in Asda BTW

Much prefer there Classic. Not easy to get and a great tasting triple distilled scotch malt.

Isn't this just thier classic but re-badged (hence why the classic is hard to find)?

Tasted this at the distillery last week in fact and thought it was not bad. Very smooth but a little harsh on the finish, but for 20 quid it's a bargain really. A good starter whisky from a long established reputable distillery.

I doubt what goes into Famous Grouse, or most blended whiskies, is much older than this. £20 is a great price for a single malt no matter what age it is, and it is more than 3 years anyway.

Another cheap and nasty no age statement whisky, I actually preferred famous grouse to this but each to their own. This is nearly always on offer for a reason!

Tastes like petrol.

It's a long time since I last tried syphoning petrol but I have tasted it and I've enjoyed Auchentoshan and my palate found no similarities.
