Really don't like their sale tactics at the moment..
Reducing the Telltale bundle then the next week giving some of it away for free, and new games reduced within a month of launch
Makes me suspicious about buying any digital deal (apart from the other region bargains  )
voyager123 to DexMorgan
24 Mar 16 3 #14
hows that, the telltale bundle is always on sale. we get some amazing stuff that puts PS plus to shame and still people will find something to complain about, hell they could give GTA V and fallout next month and people would still complain. had a feeling the way sunset kept dropping it would go to GWG.

Wow, Wolf Among Us I bought as part of Telltale and they really brought me back to 1990s gaming in a brilliant way.
Sunset Overdrive for free finally, epic.....suddenly the lack of differences between the two consoles doesn't seem so annoying, not when I get this for free on my Xbox.

Also yey, Dead Space, another game like Aliens that takes me forever to complete (because it's intense). We all need a few of those.

skik08
24 Mar 16 1 #59
It's ridiculous, when ps+ first came out on ps3, it was offering some of the best games for that time. Now is the complete opposite and all you get is indie games. My reason for this is probably because when ps+ first came out on ps3, ps3 was way behind on sales compared to 360 and needed to catch up. Now that the PS4 is leading the way in sales, they don't need to offer any big titles. It's a shame, but that is the way business goes. Well done to Microsoft!
cannibalwombat
24 Mar 16 #60

I bought a PS4 on release and a PS+ subscription.. SInce that time, the only games I've actually downloaded have been INFAMOUS: First Light, Plats Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Injustice: Gods Among Us.. While I was really pleased with those three, would I have paid £35 for them if they'd come up as a bundle? Probably not.. Haven't renewed my PS+ subscription and haven't missed it..

Bought the XB1 a few months later, and now predominantly use that.. Paid £12.55 for my last year of Gold, £20 the year before that.. Haven't paid more than £24 for the last 7 years.. Much better value so far as I'm concerned.. The selection of free games is on the whole pretty good despite some poor months, but as a cost / value exercise, it's a no brainer.

Incidentally, Sunset Overdrive is an absolutely superb game! Paid £18 for a digital copy the Xmas before last and it was a steal at that price! Excited about giving Wolf Among Us a go, nearly bought it last week!

Doesn't help as such, but Microsoft do state...

Is Games with Gold available if I'm on a 30-day Xbox Live Gold credit card trial?

You're eligible. You must have a current Xbox Live Gold membership or an Xbox Live Gold trial that requires a credit card.

What kind of Xbox Live Gold trials are eligible?

You're eligible if you're on an Xbox Live Gold one-month free trial.

If you're on a 14-day prepaid code trial, you're not eligible. You must have a current Xbox Live Gold subscription or trial that requires a credit card.

I have both consoles. Multiplatform games run better on the PS4, but up until now it's had far fewer AAA exclusives that interested me. That's likely to change this year as the PS4 has a much more interesting (to me at least) lineup this year than Xbox One. As for PS+ being amazing value? It hasn't even been good value for at least 6 months. Their online servers are just as shoddy as Microsoft's have been lately, and the games lineup has been dire for the Vita and PS3, with the PS4 occasionally getting an interesting indie. You sound like a marketing blurb for Playstation.

Now you REALLY sound like a Playstation marketing blurb.

Yes... and? PS+ had a far, far better games lineup when the PS3 was playing catchup with the 360. The company trailing in sales usually makes the extra effort to try and entice people to buy their system. That's a good thing for us the consumers. Not sure why you would spin that as a negative. Honest answer now, do you have/ have had both systems, or do you just frequent the comments section on IGN and hate on the system you don't have?
burningmoney77
24 Mar 16 #108
Bloodborne is rated as one of the best if not the best game this gen by many gamers then u got uncharted 4 releasing soon that's 2 games that destroy any xbox exclusives, the rise of the tomb raider looks good but it's just a timed exclusive.

Then there is the whole 1080p **** but time after time 3rd party devs are releasing ps4 1080p xbox1 900p. I was going to pick up both consoles but will probably just wait to see what the NX is all about as i see no reason to get a xbox1 unless it gets some seriously good 1st party games.

God I love my Xbox 360, I bought it for £80 new from Asda back in 2010 when someone on here posted a deal that if you scanned the South Africa world cup game with the 360 arcade you got it at that ridiculous price. M$ have had very little money from me really. 95% of my games are pre owned from ebay, GAME and Blockbusters/Gamestation. Only games I bought new was COD, Rise of Tomb Raider and GTA V all from Tesco's for cheaper than anywhere else at the time and I used vouchers.

I have never bought any DLC on any console, Tomb Raider Baba Yaga is tempting though. I have Xbox live just for the free games, I have a 320GB HDD which is full of good indie titles and many AAA titles that I am yet to play. Piracy is pointless nowadays. And because of all the negative publicity about M$ not letting you share games (rightly so), this will long continue (Until they abandon physical copies of games atleast). The savvy gaming consumer has never had it so good really. Looking forward to Dead Space  HOT HOT HOT

Easier to look on here, get a year membership for 20quid. If you got a gamertag, (if not, set one up) and just accept all free games whether you like it or not as I've tried stuff I thought id never consider and actually enjoyed.
Its so good that you can claim all the games without an xbox one so they can pile up, also good if you cant get to turn on your xbox for a few months as i did last Summer with travelling, just signed in twice and month, claimed and had loads ready for when i got home

I second this - I'd really like all these games (I have played DS but I'd replay it) but I don't play multiplayer online. I've played two games since I got my Xbox One in Nov - both single player.

As someone else said, but perhaps not too clearly. You dint need a gold live subs, just set up a gamertag (or use your 360 one) and then log into xbox.com and search for "Games with gold". You can then "buy them" on the website so that when you do buy your XBone, you will see them all waiting (obviously have to use the gamertag use of course)

I finished and completed SR4 on the xbox one and already sold it. Liked it enough to go through again on my 360 and double the achievements up. Never tried Deadspace, looking forward to The Wolf Among us and Sunset overdrive, never tried but looking forward to it. So June will be a good month as well since it will be the anniversary of doing Games with gold and they give a few extras away.

What about The Walking Dead Season 2?

TBH Microsoft have to do something to compete, the console itself is weak, and ground is lost every day, mine was sat here gathering dust, rather play it on a console that can handle the games, i mean look at the bloodborne engine, the XBONE can't handle it at 1080p has to run it at some resolution like 900p meh

PS Plus used to offer better titles, which worsened over time, the same will happen on Live, don't fall for the Microsoft trickery, they will rope you all in, then give you Live arcade games
CouldntThinkOfAUsername
24 Mar 16 1 #133
Lol at the users on here trying to convince themselves this is an "outstanding" deal, I'm sure Sony already gave Dead Space and SR4 on PS3 ages ago, not to mention 100's of other top games whilst Xbox users got amazing games like Fable (lol) and Halo 2(LOL) in the same time PS3 got better games. Enjoy your inferior cheap console.

Rubbish console hence the daily Xbone deals, anything to ship this dud. Trying to make yourselves feel better with PS+ taunts despite XBL giving nothing great through the 360 era when PS3 online was free and PS+ gave loads of top games. The PS4 top games are just starting and Xbone is dead already.

You don't need to delete it. Log in to xbox.com when the game is free, and 'buy' it. Then you'll find the game will start up from your existing install, but won't ask for the disc.

Even if you did delete and reinstall, the save game would carry over as xbox stores all saves in the cloud automatically.

Dead Space is a brilliant game. As the game progresses and Isaac gets more weapons and armour you start to feel like a real bad ass and you're not afraid to step into a room knowing there are a bunch of aliens ready to pounce.
You're ready to cut their limbs off one by one and stomp them for good measure.

Well this lineup is fantastic, if only I had an Xbox One :stuck_out_tongue:
I seriously hope Sony see this and think "Microsoft are great at giving their fans some descent games...maybe we should reward our gamers too?" So maybe they'll throw something like Killzone, Knack, Watchdogs, or literally anything that people actually want.

25 Mar 16 5 #161
I was in agreement with you until you mentioned Killzone, Knack and Watchdogs. Having bought all three I enjoyed none of them. Killzone was good at launch as it looked good but it was boring as hell. I'm fed up with the stream of Mega-Drive looking games but there are better games they could be giving us! There have been some gems in Rocket League, Outlast and Resogun but overall the offerings have been weak as hell.

The PS+ service brought me to PS3 from 360, maybe Games with Gold will make me go back the other way, plus the choice of EA access and backwards compatibility

Having owned a PS4 from launch I don't know how anyone can defend it. It's been a disappointment in my opinion. Weak exlusives, except BB, no GT, **** down Liverpool so looking like the first PS ever not to have Wipeout and compulsory PS+ to play online therefore a weak IGC lineup. Yes it's more powerful but I really don't see how it's shifting so many compared to Xbox One. I'm seriously tempted to go back to Xbox. MS has their house in order. Arrogance after PS2 was Sony's downfall last gen and their arrogance with PS4 will lose them the next race. Uncharted 4 is the only thing I'm clinging onto it for now
freeman76
25 Mar 16 1 #162
This would never be happening if Sony werent so far ahead. We had the exact opposite last gen, where MS had nothing free and Sony were adding triple A titles to PS plus. Competition is good for us consumers
ronaldmacdonald
25 Mar 16 2 #163
You have a point. I had PS+ with the PS3 when it did legendary deals. Went PS4 day one and PS+ has been pretty disappointing. Releases have been mediocre as well. So last week i sold the PS4. Not even Naughty Dog could convince me to stay - and I love their games. Now have the xbone with Kinect and TV mainly because of the digital region deals that are so easy to get. Also love being able to voice the tv and xbone...and I got tomb raider which I loved on the ps3. All is good

25 Mar 16 1 #164
Err did anyone actually play the Plus games for March? Super Bro Force is a great game, and it was free on release.

I'd rather have a brand new game I was gonna buy for free than some old retail release I probably already own or have played already.
Krooner to PlantBuilt
25 Mar 16 #171
This is my thinking with it all. I've played games I might not have played otherwise because of PS+. I can't deny that sunset is a cracking game for free, but I've already played it! However, I've just checked, seems I was wrong, you do need a gold account, apologies :disappointed:

This is why competition is healthy for the industry. Come on Sony give out Killzone Shadow fall, replenish the online and increase the userbase.

Well at least microsoft are giving away proper AAA games, I havent downloaded a single ps plus game in months, just endless indies i have no interest in, give me some bloody launch games at least, Killzone shadowfall is on sale for £7 i'd prefer that over some crappy top down space shooter indie game and a wii u reject game. PS Plus is becoming less and less value for money, I knew they'd reduce game quality when it became essential for online play. The last AAA game they released on ps plus was injustice as far as i can remember and not being a fan of fighter games i didnt bother.
