"You're" not "your" and "an" iPhone, not "a" iPhone. Either your grammar isn't up to scratch or your Android/Windows phone is playing up. By the way, what's with the photo of a cracked iPhone screen? I've seen cracked/shattered screens for Windows and Android phones so I am not sure why you seem to be implying that an iPhone is fragile when anything with a screen will shatter if dropped from a height on a hard surface.

Well this is a 17 month old phone. And Android users aren't used to phones that old being worth more than a packet of crisps. So you can understand a little why they think this is a terrible deal.

An 18 month old phone that's not even the latest model- £500. Over-priced still imo. I expect them to fall down in price even more over the next 6 months amid the iPhone 7 release.

As an Android owner who's tried both I think the difference in specs (between the latest and the previous generation) is negligible. It may be 18 months old but it's still very similar to Apple's latest offering. We all know Apple only makes minor incremental improvements every year. Why people go crazy about them - camping for several days outside their stores prior to the release of the latest iPhone - is something I will never understand.

Wow it's very rare on here for an Android user to post a sensible comment about an Apple product.
My honest concern with the 6 and 6 Plus is they both only have 1gb RAM and Apple is now transitioning to putting 2gb minimum in all their current models (iPad Pro has 4gb). This means future versions of the OS are going to perform pretty badly on these older generation models - even though Apple will give you the updates for free probably for another 3 years at least.
You can stick with iOS 9 if you want, but you don't get security enhancements and app developers will eventually stop supporting you - and devs killing support for older iOS versions happens relatively quickly on this side of the OS fence.
The iPhone 6 is a very nice phone today but I wouldn't buy one for just shy of £500 just because of the lack of RAM.
brooky_agn
4 Mar 16#29
Apple software is well optimised and doesn't need 20gb ram and a 32 core processor to run smoothly. Android phones especially with the garbage software (bloat ware) added on by the manufacturers do.
westendtoo
4 Mar 161#31
Apple software is well optimised until Apple decide that it won't run on your device and you need to upgrade.
Having your whole music collection as well as downloading other music from Amazon Prime would take up at least 70mb for me, so yes, easy to fill a 128gb phone, which has a capacity of 114gb in reality according to some forums.

Great another decent Apple deal which means 1000 comments of hate from Android users who "always know better".
The only real question is Can you find this exact phone somewhere else for cheaper? No? Then it's a deal. It's irrelevant if you prefer something else.
I am an Android user but I just understand all the hate. I usually check the Android deals and I don't see 6 million comments saying "£500 for a last gen phone" bs.
westendtoo to pascal03

A price drop doesn't constitute as a deal. If I sold you something that was worth £10 and slapped a £100 RRP then reduced it to £50 would you buy it? Money off is a big factor, however so is the product itself .

I never understood apple branded sales/deals, there's no need for it, there's mainly 2 kinds of consumers, blind hardcore fans who will pay £2000 for a pair of socks as long as it have a apple logo in it, or people who wouldn't buy a apple product regardless of price simply because they don't wanna be in a walled garden apple ecosystem
paradigm to toninhoscotti
4 Mar 162#45
Ah, the standard broad strokes rhetoric unsubstantiated by any fact or even common sense. The simple existence of an Apple product with a price drop undermines your point. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course, just never understood the hate for people who choose to spend their money of different things from other people for different reasons.

4 Mar 16#44
Which is fine but surely what makes a deal is that something is selling for a cheaper price than normal. What personal value a buyer places on anything is relevant is you're considering a personal purchase but shouldn't influence whether it's a 'deal' or not.
i.e. If someone is looking for an iPhone 6 128gb this is a great deal in that it's currently cheaper than any other retailer.

4 Mar 161#65
They don't decide this. In fact their approach is far superior to android's in that devices several years old get the option of upgrading OS on the day of release. Flagship android phones (except nexii) don't offer day one releases (more like month 7) and often stop upgrading devices a couple of OSs in.
The nature of tech is such that old decides will struggle with cutting edge software and this is not a conspiracy contrary to popular belief
