Great deal, been waiting for this to open. Can't be long for the Showcase now.

The Showcase is shocking. They've barely done anything to it since it opened!

Shame The Light doesn't have any free parking.

Oh I thought the Wharf had got rid of all their free parking. That's not too bad then.

free parking after 6 is all well and good but what about if you wanted to see a movie in the day ? the wharf parking is extortionate at the best of times.

I like the idea of a new cinema in walsall but with limited free parking for the cinema and the new restaurants especially during the daytime i can see it failing.

People could always make a radical decision and get to the cinema on foot or by public transport...

And thats fine for those who do want to use public transport. I personallly dont want to be on a cramped stinky bus. but each to their own :smiley:

I didn't say you should, I just don't think the viability of the cinema is linked to your ability (or anyone else who considers themselves to be above public transport) to be present for pre-6pm screenings!

Though looking it up, £3 for a 4 hour stay doesn't seem particularly extortionate?

Good deal for tickets but if you want to save even more money just got to a nearby building site where demolition work is going on. That will be a very similar experience to watching Batman vs Superman.

I think it is yes, It is when its free to park on Bentley Bridge in Wolverhampton for Cineworld and free to park at Showcase in Walsall and in Dudley.

If you want to use the light cinema and pay your £3 for parking or ride on public transport then by all means do so. I made an observation on why i think it will fail, you think otherwise. 2 opinions made.

The examples you have given are out of town complexes, which uses more fuel and time to get to for a lot of people. This cinema is smack bang in the middle of shops, bars and restaurants with a train and bus station within a few minutes walk.

For short films you can park at Tesco for 2 hours for free or many side streets that are free within five minutes. Asda is also free for I think three hours and the large car park by the bingo hall is free for the first 90 minutes then a small fee for over that.

Not too mention the thousands of homes within walking distance to the Wharf.

Using your logic all cinemas in town and city centres would've closed down years ago, followed by restaurants and shops.

BTW have you tried the Odeon in West Brom, no free parking in the day and last time I went it was packed, barely a seat free.

£5.80 at Lincoln Odeon, which looks just as good as that..

£8.75 +£2 for 3D then another £1 for premier seats on a Saturday night.

Batman v superman & new captain America all pre booked at odeon iMax in 3D gallery £25 quid a ticket and worth every ruddy penny to watch it the way I need to see these films. Plus I eat over 25 quids worth of popcorn and nachos and drink - even at supermarket prices that alone odeon prices. Love it . Good deal to the limited people that can use it.

I'm lucky enough to live right across the road from the the light . But I'm not going to pre book. As it still hopefully going to be cheaper on mearcat Tuesday aNd Wednesday. Though I've got a feeling it's going to be very expensive. New in town cinema. If it is I will carry on using the odeon at West Bromwich as the tickets are only £4.50 and I get free parking there to. you're right I can see it putting people off because of the parking. I can see the whalf getting rid of the free parking. It's now really busy in the evening people using it for the tgi's and pizza express.

I did say through work, did I not? On an employee website that MANY employers offer. £5 is not a "deal"

I also have also to several discount schemes through the company I work for and none of them get 3D films at peak time for £5.

Yes, my local Odeon charge £5 regardless of age or time. My uni odeon, similar to the one you've pictured charge a lot more but I pay £5.80 through work.

Hence why I feel £5 isn't a deal. I know there are regional price differences but if that's the case, I'd suggest going on a tuesday or wednesday to see films and using meerkat movies

Haha nope - no tea that night - get their about an hour early to enjoy pre and during film- making the most - why the hell night - lads night and a treat night !
