I'm not a great fan of any lager that's less than 4.8%, but I don't mind a pint of Amstel if I'm out and don't want to fall on the floor too early during the evening.
I found this in store this morning and see that it's also available online. I think that £1.70 a litre isn't a bad deal.

It's worth noting that these packs feature a new design and this signals the fact that the lager is UK brewed. Tesco still have the 6 packs of the old design and these are imported.

I have to agree with that. I normally get Stella if KB isn't a decent price, It wasn't too bad when it dropped to 5%, but now it doesn't really have a "taste". Last night I had a couple Stella and a couple Amstel. Much preferred the Amstel even though it's a weaker drink.

Stella is 18 cans for £12 at Asia at moment. Probably should have posted it. Somebody may have already

Never been the same drink when they dropped ABV from 5.2% to 4.8%. It 'tastes' all wrong now. It used to be the only fizzy drink i would touch.

"Amstel" is Dutch for "tramp's wee".

in simple terms alcohol is the micro-organism's way of excreting its waste products :man: - so your not far off but probably a combination of wee+poo. ? maybe artois means poo in french.

Oh dear are we not allowed to have an opinion now? I never even said i don't like it I drink this stuff when I'm on holiday as it is cheap in Europe. Was just saying that 12 beers for £9 is a pretty standard price for a cheap mass produce lager!
But I suppose I shouldn't vote cold based on opinion but rather on fact! Chump!

so this is the lesser 4% stuff then rather than the stronger and nicer premium? Good deal if its the premium, otherwise cold.

In my local store they also has packs of 15 x 300ml bottles of Amstel for £9.00. It seems like a decent enough deal.
