In my local Aldi there were about 30 legs of lamb originally priced at £3.79 per Kg. There was a sign saying 50% off marked price on all lamb legs.
Great to fill up the freezer - I will take all the meat off the bone and chop up for curries, tagines etc

The 50% off marked price labels are the equivalent of other supermarkets food clearance section. So not really a deal - only be available in stores where it's also going out of date! People get angry when someone posts a Tesco reduced to clear item yet this gets super hot. Next time I'm in asda ill post my reduced to clear due to expiry date shopping list!

There was an Aldi in Reading which Lidl took over. They were selling legs of lamb at £24 last Thursday so this is a fantastic bargain.

I believe there's a website called Google that has a couple of decent lamb recipes.
Haven't tried it myself but it seems to be quite popular with the kids.

Dammit, plenty of stock in Aldi, Gorgie Road in Edinburgh but none reduced. Ended up buying one anyway because I wanna cook a decent roast with half and save the rest for kebabs.
BB is, 02 April so I guess they'll be reducing the next day or two..... Hopefully!

And your point is?
Got last two off shelf this afternoon and young lad in store said that once the stuff labelled 50% off is finished there's another batch going out at 30% off and yes, it's nationwide.
Good find OP.

We bought one at full price ,loads of meat on it and not fatty at all, very tasty.
Fed 4 of us for Easter Sunday Dinner, plus I have had some in a tortilla wrap today at work and now going to tuck into another roast of left overs.
We often buy Ashfield meat at Aldi and find it far superior in taste and quality to Tesco,Asda etc .

Not Twickenham residents. The Laverstoke Farm shop charged £15.99 a kilo. But they've just gone bust - can't imagine why.

Sorry to hijack this thread, meat lovers!
any suggestion to get foreign minced pork?
read some article saying the minced pork from Finland or Germany tastes way better than local British minced pork.

I've heard the exact opposite, and that British pork is of a higher quality than other offerings in Europe. Standards of welfare are also supposed to be higher.
Have you tried going to a butcher rather than a supermarket?
Not being pretentious or judgey about supermarket meat - but I've definitely found pork from a good cheap butcher to be significantly better than what I've found in Sainsburys, Tesco, and the rest - on average. If you live in London or Devon I might be able to give you a recommendation!
