Guessing it's not 4K though. And even if it were the image quality of a good TV screen is leagues beyond any projector screen. Don't get me wrong, I love my projector for blowing up movies but a TV is a different beast.

A projector 'screen' doesn't have any inherent quality with regards resolution etc.
Have you seen a 4K projector? I have - they're mind blowing. Your 4K TV doesn't come close.
When you go the cinema it's generally 2K at a huge size - now imagine what a decent 4K projector looks like. Your 4K TV looks so good because it's small.

That's a bit like saying the Sega Dreamcast isn't dead because you still play it. I always argued for 3D in the past and 3D film releases from 2010-2015 kind of say it has been going strong, but Samsung and Philips have just said they aren't going to be making any more 3D TVs, so yeah, it is dead.
If you are going to cold vote every tv which doesn't have 3D you are going to very quickly run out of tv deals you can vote hot!

Sky 3D has stppoed running as a channel, sports channels don't show as 3D BBC stopped making 3D prgrammes. Most 3D movies are just converted to 3D and don't look that good. 3D is dead on TV's

3D dead what a daft thing to say, all the big movies come out in 3D and then to Bluray in 3D just because Sky quit their service means nothing it was rubbish and was extra money on top of their already massive prices, You say 3D is dead because either you've never seen a good 3D picture or your TV isn't 3D. I admit that on TV's its not that great sometimes but on a projector its awesome I watched the last Transformers film on my projector a few months back and it was brilliant i was blown away with how good it was. If 3D's dead why is it available on all the big TV manufactures high end TV's and why is it that it will continue to be included on 4K and 8K sets. Just because 2D ticket sales are higher than 3D thats easily explained its always more expensive to see a movie in 3D and with it being £10+ to see a movie in 2D saving a couple of quid makes sense to a lot of people especially if your taking the family to see a movie that can add up to a £20+ savings, theirs your answer.
I am the first to admit that not all films lend themselves well to 3D and in some movies i just think its pointless but films like Starwars and Avatar work great in 3D and are the only way to watch them, i suggest you go and see Avatar on a decent TV in 3D then come back and tell me its rubbish and a dead format. Your personal opinion obviously doesn't match most peoples and the manufacturers and the movie companies as their is now more files coming out in 3D than ever before, all the big blockbusters are in 3D
Exactly. It's a typical egocentric comment you see on the web every day. I still use 3D therefore it's not dead. You might as well say the Cortina is still produced because I still drive one, or Nokia are lead the mobile market share because I've got one.

29 Mar 16#34
Nope. I have a 3D TV. And Sky's 3D content is now free. It costs very little to turn a film into 3D which is why the movie producers still do it. Most people at cinemas choose 2D over 3D. Is it because of the price or do a lot of people just not enjoy the experience, find it uncomfortable and not really enhancing their experience. We are talking about a technology that has been around since the 1950's at least. Wasn't that popular then, isn't that popular now.
Just becuase there's lots of releases, doesn't mean there's lots of takers.

This is an awesome deal for such a big 4K screen. I'm sooo glad the prices are dropping so fast. Once i'm ready to upgrade my beloved Pioneer 50" Kuro plasma (which cost me £2300) my next TV has to be 65" > 80" in size. Only other additions to the spec would be HDR and OLED screen (hoping 4K projectors come into the price range so I can keep my Kuro). Waiting patiently ... HEAT!!!

Bigger is better. So they say. Realistically if you get a 4K tv then you are looking at 65" and above. Anything less and the advantage over Full HD isn't so obvious.
It makes me laugh when I see 40" 4k tv's for sale. It's pure marketing. From a normal viewing distance you are simply not going to see any advantage over a bog standard HD set.

How do the LG panels compare to the rest these days? A few years ago they used the same panel as Panasonic but the firmware didn't match in quality so you got a degree of motion blur when watching live sports.
