Is this a pedal opener or the touch lid opener thanks.

it's a touch lid opener. mechanism works a treat on mine. It also has a frame that your bin bag wraps around and sits on the lip of the bin, then a matching frame attached to the bin lid that goes over that. So far even my very messy other half hasn't managed to get the lid mucky

Touch lids are not a hygienic design. Plenty of pedal bins around.
I have this bin and it is brilliant. Although the base is 'oval' shaped, it has a flat back which means it does not take up as much room as a conventional 40 litre round bin.
Also the way the bag is secured under the removable rim, stops the liner bag falling down inside the bin; a really good feature.
It is plastic but looks like metal and is finger mark proof, I was sceptical but it does not show finger marks; also as it is plastic it is easy to clean and does not rust. I paid a lot more for mine and it was/is worth every penny.
Why would we want to buy a smaller more expensive bin just because it says Brabantia on it?

We have two of these bins. One for recycling and one for general waste. Great bins, good price. Only issue we have is finding a bin bag/liner that fits. Anyone else had any luck?

I have one of these and like someone has previously said flat back so it fits against the wall and as it is touch lid it doesn't mark the wall behind it like a pedal one does.

Surprised you actually went in to Morrisons, I would have thought there would be a mass protest outside it.

There would have been but we get tired of protesting on behalf of the academic elite S** reading doormats in the Sarf of England.
