Thank you to Shopper Points for the post and the heads up.
Until 29th April Tesco Bank is giving 4000 Clubcard points to everyone who takes out home insurance (contents and building) via telephone when quoting the code H4000GR.
This is a very generous deal if you live in a low risk area – especially if you can turn those 4000 points into £120+ of Clubcard Boost deals. However, because of the need to take out contents and buildings insurance, it is no use if you live in a flat where your buildings insurance is arranged centrally. There is no offer for just taking out contents insurance.
On top of that Tesco Bank is promising an additional Clubcard holder discount for new and renewing customers – but obviously when taking out any insurance it is worth shopping around and comparing prices. If you want to get a rough quote from Tesco before calling, you can do so on their website – but you must call to buy if you want the 4000 points.

I applied online 3 weeks ago. Called today as policy not started yet & they added the point on for me.

Spoke to someone at Tesco, the code is listed as working as working online and over the phone - so I bought via Quidco as well. Here's hoping...

Just looked at Tesco bank home insurance reviews on TCB, most are saying don't touch with a barge pole as they don't pay out cashback or they take ages to payout.

Wow...what a surprise. Their on-line quote was only 10% higher than my current cost. I really did expect them to be further adrift.

It'd be alright if their prices were remotely competitive but they aren't. Cold

I got an online quote and then phoned them to ensure the points would be added. The quote online is what I paid and he confirmed the points would be added
The quote was probably £30 dearer than the cheapest, but the point x4 was well worth it as I go to Prezzo loads.

I will wager that Every single phone quote will be way more expensive than any online quote

How about if you got a quote online, saved it then phoned them up and told them to match it and then tell them about the code for the points?

They'll say not valid in conjunction with any other offer or discount BUT try it they can only say no after all! Good luck

I looked into this last week. Not a great deal. On phone quote was 170 but via topcashback quote was £130 with £40 cash back! Shop around folks!

It's just a deal and your mileage may vary. Caveat Emptor applies to all deals.

I agree top cash back was better deal for me but it will obviously depend on where you live!!
