It has never bothered me, had many a 'debate' with those who drone on about abhoring the practice of buying stuff to sell on at a profit.
I can only assume they believe people like Amazon have become as succesful as they have by selling their gear at a loss :smirk:
All about the strong black Tchibo coffee over here in Austriashire, all the more so seeing I'm hanging from a very heavy night with a couple of friends who came over for a farewell drink before I move back to the UK.

Oh I don't know, you'll have to make enquiries with those who start going on about it.
Strange thing is if ever you ask them if they go to work for nothing because they are clearly so anti turning a quid they tend to ignore ya.
May seem like a trivial matter all things considered but to me their insistence on using that muggy septic term 'scalper' rather than tout from our lingo is what proper gets my goat up. So next they'll be off to watch an awesome soccer ball game and calling the ref a "jerk" :smirk:

Still nothing at mine up to yesterday, she went work early this morning so postie hadn't been by then but seeing they refunded me 'no questions asked' without waiting the 15 days or whatever it is I'm just taking it as it never actually got shipped.
It's a shame as it was a nice price but it is what it is or should that be it wasn't what it was? :smirk:

Mine came yesterday at 3pm. There were no date stamps on the parcel, could they possibly be confirming dispatch earlier that what they are actually dispatching the goods? Either way, i'm not going to be using shop to again, I can't feel comfortable with a "will it turn up or not". Hope you peeps still waiting find light at the end of the tunnel. Exactly what I'd have thought, I did go off on to a moan straight away saying I weren't convinced they ever had them all in stock.
I also mentioned this thread, saying I'm clearly not the only one who hasn't received this item if it was ever sent and he refunded me.
To me it as good as confirms they never actually sent it and thus also would appear I was right to doubt the availability of this steelbook in such big numbers all along.

Update: I just called them, Shopto that is, he brought my order up on the system and just paused/sighed and said after this amount of time it's safe to assume it's gone missing in the post and he would issue a refund. Already got the mail from Paypal in a matter of seconds
Dear Charles,
The payment of £37.10 GBP that was scheduled for 7 Apr 2016 for your purchase from Shopto.net has been cancelled. No money will be debited from your Lloyds TSB x-xxxx account.
To see the transaction details, click the transaction ID link above to log in to your PayPal account. It may take a few moments for this cancellation to appear in your account.
Hmmmm I don't think I've ever had anyone give me a refund for anything 'missing' less than a week after despatch, fair play Shopto for doing this like instantly after I rang up, but I can't help feeling they never actually had enough in stock and so they never shipped it.
That also would go without saying that it was a proper liberty of them to 'complete' the order in the first place, I got my dough back and that's the main thing but there's clearly been proper issues with this specific item, on both Shopto and Video Game Box

Thanks for the info, I am going to give Shopto a bell tomorrow morning followed by Paypal. and I will refer both of them to this thread. I am thinking they've pulled many people's plonkers here all of a sudden, just too many of us having the same experience to blame Royal Mail.
I am in the middle of moving at the minute so am mega busy but if I don't do it tomorrow it'll get forgotten, really ain't happy now!

I am sure there's people with political/union agendas will blame management, privatisation bla bla bla but reading an address and putting it in the correct letter box has absolutely fxxx all to do with stuff like that.
Unfortunately I honestly feel the more you moan about it the more they go out of their way to mess your deliveries up out of spite.
I thank you most kindly for your best wishes with this relentless problem and indeed hope you have some good fortune with it your end.
TrickieNickie
3 Apr 16#132
Same scenario here. Street names flat names and even house names lol. Unfortunately my mail lands into a guys letterbox who doesn't speak English nor understand that it's decent to re deliver at the correct address! So it's tough. Hope you find a resolution, fingers crossed.
Chasloyal
3 Apr 161#131
Well Mrs Loyal is having Royal Mail issues back at home as I been out in Austria for years now, though I am returning home in a fortnight's time for good.
Not just hassle with the post but even couriers and takeaway deliveries too! Without publicising our address for description sake I shall say we live on Smith Road but there's also a Smith House on Smith Road and a Smith Close at the end of Smith Road.
Ok I suppose there's scope for confusion there but still street, house n close are different names and they have different postcodes obviously.
Let's face facts here, if my steelbook has gone through the wrong letterbox the chances of them dropping it round to my other half are close to zero. I'm not saying it's right but if something of decent value untracked gets posted through yours by mistake it's extremely tempting to just hold on to it.
Chasloyal
2 Apr 16#129
Mine was 'completed' Wednesday lunchtime and to the best of my knowledge it still hadn't arrive lunchtime today when Mrs Loyal went to work and it had definitely not arrived before that.
Been a few Royal Mail issues with deliveries on my manor in recent times, there's a Close, Road and House all of the same first name but they all got totally different postcodes.
Seeing others here ain't received it either I'm reluctant to allow the other half to put it on the Nigerian post office temp on this occasion.

3 Apr 16#130

Shopto - continue to fall from their once graceful position.
Offering to buy GAME Reward Cards for £3.00 (regardless of credit upon the associated account) & gloating about the retailer's poor fortune via social media channels (including their own Blog) on the very same day that thousands of staff at The Game Group did not know if they would have employment by the end of the week. Then, when the Reward Scheme was reinstated, using the credit to buy GAME Exclusive Editions for re-sale at a higher price.
Implementing a poorly-designed disorganised web site, that was either too slow, or constantly offline pending updates for what appeared to be many weeks without any clear indication of when the site would be usable again.
Diminishing quality of customer service / coupled with the appalling ticket-based system implemented with the revised web site.
Withdrawal of cashback incentives.
Higher prices.

Nothing like a bit of optimism I suppose but if you really do believe one of the biggest games retailers in the UK is snowed under by a solitary item that they might or might not have a few hundred in stock of then you need to check your trust in humanity a bit.
We've already established in the other shopto thread for this product they didn't even have any in stock when they listed it on Thursday, shopto themselves confirmed this.
Then in the video game box thread for this steelbook that they had listed even cheaper it turns out they been telling people that had bought it they been let down by the supplier or it was a 'pre-order' :smirk:
Like something that came out six months ago being a pre-order is a new one to me but it does just demonstrate the load of old bullpony these retailers will give you when they've sold you something they haven't even got in stock.
This steelbook was a Game exclusive last autumn and there was only 20,000 manufactured. even if they didn't go as well as anticipated I find it very hard to believe that other retailers would suddenly have these in the hundreds, possibly thousands, at 40% off.
Of course I might be proved totally wrong and I hope I am because I have ordered one myself but when something seems too good to be true.......you know the rest

Funnily enough I did actually point out in the other thread for this very deal an hour ago that being the narrow minded untravelled little Englander that I am I'd forgotten about things back at home by virtue of having lived abroad for nigh on half a decade now.
You see Good Friday is a normal working day over here in many countries on mainland Europe, I beg your pardon and hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for my ignorance and terrible memory :smirk:

I'm not sure if my order is okay or not on this, I ordered last night by PayPal and right at the very end of confirming it gave me an error message on the ShopTo site which said the order wasn't successful; so I just left it thinking it wasn't a big deal to miss out but this morning I noticed I've got a PayPal receipt and a payment confirmation from ShopTo which, like above says I'll get a confirmation soon.
Anyone else had a similar issue with the error?

I purchased via Paypal last night without making a Shopto account, after making payment I got a confirmation from Paypal and it showed the money had left my account but I didn't have any confirmation from Shopto. It appears that it made me a Shopto account when I purchased, but on my orders it didn't show that I had ordered anything, lol... Got an email this morning from Shopto saying they have received my payment and I'll get an email when my order is confirmed.
Think a few people are having similar issues so I wouldn't worry about it

I also checked out with paypal and didnt make an account, but if you go to the payment confirmation email from shopto, theres a red button at the bottom of the email saying "my account". Click that and all your details are there (mine was anyway). Hope that helps.
Also at the top of the account page on the shopto website it says:
"Our customer service department and warehouse will be closed from 6pm Thursday the 24th of March until 9am Tuesday the 29th due to the Easter Holidays."

Perhaps, but that's explicitly *not* how deals should be posted. The site's policy generally is that for significant price movements (generally, more than +/-£1), a previous deal post should be expired and a new one posted. That in theory should ensure that the 'heat' level associated with each deal is reflective of the price that it represents.

It's a shame as it was a nice price but it is what it is or should that be it wasn't what it was? :smirk:
I also mentioned this thread, saying I'm clearly not the only one who hasn't received this item if it was ever sent and he refunded me.
To me it as good as confirms they never actually sent it and thus also would appear I was right to doubt the availability of this steelbook in such big numbers all along.

I am in the middle of moving at the minute so am mega busy but if I don't do it tomorrow it'll get forgotten, really ain't happy now!
I'd like to know if anyone else in here hasn't received theirs yet either? Please add a comment if it's not turned up as yet
Unfortunately I honestly feel the more you moan about it the more they go out of their way to mess your deliveries up out of spite.
I thank you most kindly for your best wishes with this relentless problem and indeed hope you have some good fortune with it your end.
That said nobody on the VGB thread has had any joy at all, but they seem to be a right wrong'un outfit according to many accounts.

The demise of ShopTo.net:
Customers' credit/debit card details released to unknown third parties via the security breach at their card payment processing service. Not acknowledging their agents were at fault & denying any involvement whatsoever.
Selling used items as new.
Taking payment for PlayStation 4 pre-orders without warning.
Diminishing quality of customer service / coupled with the appalling ticket-based system implemented with the revised web site.
Withdrawal of cashback incentives.
Higher prices.

You see Good Friday is a normal working day over here in many countries on mainland Europe, I beg your pardon and hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me for my ignorance and terrible memory :smirk:

Only joking sorry couldn't help myself in that one was gonna log back on and get a second one as it only works out for £19.99 a year for plus which is good
An absolute joke, surprised I'm the first to post about these issues.
Anyone else had a similar issue with the error?
Think a few people are having similar issues so I wouldn't worry about it
I know any old PSN Plus "deal" with 50p off the RRP goes blazing hot on here, but this is a legitimately good price, so have some heat.
Also at the top of the account page on the shopto website it says:
"Our customer service department and warehouse will be closed from 6pm Thursday the 24th of March until 9am Tuesday the 29th due to the Easter Holidays."
Might be why your email bounce.
i didn't win a psone edition ps4 so voting cold though :disappointed:
I've used the PSN boxes in the past as replacement boxes but they had spindles.
Heat added anyway OP!

Heat added :smile::smile::smile:
thanks, will give it a go...my PS+ is up on sat, was going to get the £30 offer on the PSN store, but this seems a better deal with he £20 wallet top up...
After ordering, I changed the card to my new one and the billing address. All fine.
However - I realised the billing address for the old card I used is my old address.... will this be declined then? Or will shopto stupidly send it to my old address?!
Not quite sure how this is not hot, showing as -23 here
