The T&C's say they will be added within 28 days of the end date (i.e. by 20th April) so I reckon they will leave it as late as possible to stop people using it for the double up.
I also suspect they are hoping people won't realise this so spend more to try and take advantage. If you shop at Sainsbury's anyway then that's fine, but I won't go specifically thinking you can get the 10x points and then double up as well.

hmmmm ... 10 x Nectar points always sounds so much, so if I spend £40, I would get 400 points, which is 360 points more than usual, equivalent to £1.80 off a £40 shop (£3.60 for that rare double-up) - if they gave me a voucher for that, I probably wouldn't make a special trip, but worth doing, if you are going there anyway.

Sainsburys throwing it all out for Easter .... wine, nectar 10%, nectar double up, tu 25% .... not like it's out of desperation either with first growth in years last week.
macphist0
18 Mar 162#53
Yes but the only way that happened was if someone spent half his points. They halved how many you get from 2 to 1 per pound spent but more than made up for that with their specials with https://mycoupons.sainsburys.co.uk/, and more 10x offers as it further encourages loyalty, but that loyalty will end up with a lot more points at the end of the year than they would have when it was 2 points per pound spent, quite easily in fact.

I spent £10.50 yesterday before I knew about this. Anyway, had loaded "200 points when you spend £10" and "60 or 70 points when you buy roast potatoes" onto my card so not a bad shop for things I needed (Sainsbury were the cheapest for what I needed and two other items the same as Asda).
Got a 150 pointer to use for any Yeo Valley yoghurt and I eat them daily so that's a bonus.
Will fill up with petrol this week so that's another 400 or so points. Think in the last 6 months, I've doubled my points total for the last 10 years!
bargainhunter666
18 Mar 16#58
But not if you changed to Aldi,Lidl,Morrison's or Tesco. Way to get people shopping is make them loyal by rewarding any shopping. Not the way Nectar works, it's a poor scheme.
Babbler
18 Mar 16#59
Interesting. I also have a triple nectar points voucher they gave me at till - would that mean I would have 30 points per £? lol
macphist0
18 Mar 162#60
They do reward any shopping.....just half what it used to be. I don't think 3 of the 4 you just mentioned even do that. And I also do Clubcard points and use their coupons, and I never end up with the same rewards from them at all, and they expire which can be a pain.
Like I've always said, never tailor your shopping habits for points or rewards, tailor them for the best price and convenience for what you want. I continue to do that, and last year, I still made twice the nectar points I had made in any other year despite the "halving value"....yet the clubcard points remained about the same as usual. And this year, the nectar points are smashing it. I somehow insanely have £40 since I zeroed out at Christmas when it took me a whole year to make £50 in 2015.....as you may guess from that, I clearly don't do the household shop(at Asda btw).

Just a heads up for those people that were on mobile by Sainsbury's at the end they were supposed to earn double points for six months following the network closer in January. I still have not had my points doubled make so sure that you check to see you get yours. Well not sure what happened there.
Loaded the offer to my nectar card.
Spent £80 on a food shop and used said card.
Points earned = 80
Aren't I right in saying you would normally earn 80 points on an £80 shop anyway? Shouldn't my points have been 80 + 720 bonus points??
goldy12 to MJ10
19 Mar 161#88
Bonus points will be added at a later date, within 28 days.
Personally I don't like that idea as sometimes the points do not get added and you've usually forgot about them or fail to check that they have been added, but if your shopping in Sainsbury's anyway or need fuel nothing to lose in theory a great deal.

20 Mar 16#93
Yep.. it's also happened to me a lot, particularly when the Nectar website did extra points on specific items at Sainsbury's, like 100 points on Yeo Valley Yogurt, 150 points on PG Tips, etc.
None of them ever got credited. The trouble is, by the time you've waited the 28 days, all traces of the offer have disappeared off the Nectar website, so the only way you're going to prove the offer ever existed is by doing a screen shot at the time of opting in to each offer – too much hassle.

Just to clarify and correct a few points made on this thread:
1. In most cases the halving of Nectar points given as standard was seen as a negative. However there followed loads of bonus point till spits, and mycoupons offers. As others have said, it's meant far greater earning opportunities for most of us than previously, for same or less spend.
2. The double up. Unless they change it this time (ie change the till software) you'll still be able to redeem for the same dept multiple times. We tend to do the clothing one for £40 several times over the period of the offer and it works fine.
3. The 10x offer adds 9 points per £1 spent or litre of fuel bought. This gets added within 28 days. Any other coupon or offer eg 3x or 5x will add another 2 or 4 points per £1 respectively. So basically for each coupon knock 1 off as those points you get anyway.
DominicPTS
22 Mar 16#98
You'll actually get 9 points extra on the 10x offer and 1 point extra on the 2x offer, so 10x extra points or yes 11 points in total instead of 1 per £1 or per litre.

Still no new app for WP though.
why not send them an email and ask them to sent you a keyring fob
Does that mean I get 10X points + Triple points?
Got a 150 pointer to use for any Yeo Valley yoghurt and I eat them daily so that's a bonus.
Will fill up with petrol this week so that's another 400 or so points. Think in the last 6 months, I've doubled my points total for the last 10 years!
Just had another offer via Nectar on Ebay.
Spend 2000 points and get 1000 Free! Anyone else got this? So I can buy for a tenner and effectively get a fiver back. 50% off.
What's not to like?
Limited term ends 20th Mar.
Update
Just had another Nectar offer. Shop 3 times on ebay this week and get 100 points. I shop regularly on Ebay so that won't be a problem!
Loaded the offer to my nectar card.
Spent £80 on a food shop and used said card.
Points earned = 80
Aren't I right in saying you would normally earn 80 points on an £80 shop anyway? Shouldn't my points have been 80 + 720 bonus points??
Personally I don't like that idea as sometimes the points do not get added and you've usually forgot about them or fail to check that they have been added, but if your shopping in Sainsbury's anyway or need fuel nothing to lose in theory a great deal.
None of them ever got credited. The trouble is, by the time you've waited the 28 days, all traces of the offer have disappeared off the Nectar website, so the only way you're going to prove the offer ever existed is by doing a screen shot at the time of opting in to each offer – too much hassle.
