I've been very happy with my talkmobile deal and LG handset and continued post contract for £7.00/month. Just had a call from them and, by accepting a further 12 month SIM only contract at 50p more, they massively increased my allowances as above. I guess this may be a 'retention' offer but they called me (I wasn't calling them to leave) and were also prepared to offer the same deal on any other phones I wanted to put their way.
Vodaphone network.
May be worth asking if they'll do it for you?
Edit: established that this IS available to anyone until 17 April (see website via link). Other deals up to 8GB data for £15/m also available.
Various posters mentioning poor service (do they mean signal or customer service?). All I can say is that I've never had a problem with them in 3 years; I suspect people confuse Talkmobile (this one - now owned by Vodaphone) with the hated TalkTalk?
Tethering IS allowed (I don't use it but it's important to some members).

Yep that's a good thing - it's a toss up between joining TalkTalk and walking around in a t-shirt with your banking details printed on it. :innocent:

Has anyone else been sent what looks like a standard email from these people on reply to purchase asking for a copy of your bank statement to be sent through ? as a home owner for 20+ years and untarnished credit history it all seems somewhat suspicious considering they claim to perform a credit check anyway.

Here's a deal EE sent me. Same tariff as this to be fair. £14.99 a month but you get £100 amazon voucher to boot. Works out around 90p cheaper and a proper network with 4G.
I use them, very happy with my PAYG service. I think a lot of people do mix them up with Talk Talk, Talkmobile should really think about rebranding themselves to get out of the shadow of that (unaffilated) shambles of a company.

I was with talkmobile for about 2 weeks. Their contract system was bugged and wouldn't accept my address for some reason so i had to go through another company.
You can limit the overspend to £11pm.
Uses Vodafone but only 3G atm. Speeds were about the same as Voda when I went to Manchester. However I live in a 2G area so 3G always seems super fast.
Customer service was fine.
I left cause of the £20 20GB deal with spotify which worked out as the same proce each month.

Not so much patchy but a really new idea for TalkMobile that some time this decade they'll get around to!

I have a Chinese phone and haven't bothered trying to set up 4G as I'm not sure whether it has it and I only use the internet for Facebook, outlook, HUKD, eBay and BBC News which all load more than quickly enough on 3G.

Not capped, but has an out of allowance limit of £50, so your bills won't be more then £57.50.
If you're a heavy data user you need to keep an eye on your usage to avoid being stung.

^^^^ Avoid Talk Mobile like the plague. Everyone is different but I found them completely obstructive and unhelpful and the farce from the Nexus 5X deal only highlights their flaws

But this is Talkmobile (division of Vodaphone) - suspect lots of people are confusing the two. Talk Talk is indeed very poor. Talkmobile have been great (so far!).

I just signed up for that one
I signed up when I was a TalkTalk customer to their mobile service and left them as a Broadband and phone customer 9 months ago. I was still able to get this deal.
You can see why they are so bad now if its to do with Vodafone.

I'm not sure from reading their site they're a division of Vodafone any more than Tesco are a division of o2 - it looks like they just piggyback off the network like Tesco do - which isn't anything negative.

helpful - that rings true. i ordered a sim, 10 a month. i got a confirmation email, sim in the post will be 4 days.
a week later no sim. 2 weeks later no sim. so i called up to ask and i got some numpty on the fone apologising and telling me they had some issues sending them out. but its on its way. should be with me in another 4 days.
by the way, is there anyone else in your family that wants one? anyone else you know who is on payg? are u sure? do you want another one?
this person, i believe, had no intention to sort my query out but to sell me loads more of these, as many as possible, (comission based work).
here i am a month later and still no sim. but i dont even want one now.
blessing in disguise i think.

It's on their web site you also get £21.00 from TCB which makes it £5.75 a month
But if you go for the 3000 min 5000 texts and 4gb data for £120.00 you also get £47.25 from TCB which makes it £6.06 a month for the extra 31p 2000 min & 4gb data
TCB tracks after 3 months by the way
