A very nice set for the money. ideal for beginners and then some... A highly rated guitar at this price point. Some packages come with DVDs and books ect, which is handy, although you'll probably find all you need around Youtube and Ultimate-guitar (for tabs and learning content)
In my opinion this set up gives you more of what you would benefit from right away. Maybe not so much a slider and capo though, but you might have some fun with those after a few months.
Package Includes:
Traditional Guitar Stand with collapsible feet and adjustable neck support.
Pocket-sized Digital Tuner with a jack and mic input suitable for electric and bass guitars.
A simple yet effective Guitar String Winder which aids fast and easy guitar re-stringing.

Yamaha f310 sounds very good, decent guitar to start with. Years ago they were cheaper.

If you don't need a new one..get a used fg series on eBay. I picked up a 1981 fg332 for 70 quid and it sounds amazing.

I've been debating whether to start playing for a while, can play a little but nothing to write home about, would this be a good bet? Was thinking of maybe an electro-acoustic, more for the fact that I can plug headphones in and save my other half the bleeding ears. Any thoughts???

With an electro acoustic you can't silence it with headphones! Your best bet for that would be an electric and some sort of interface / amp with effects. I still use an OLD and outdated Line 6 Guitar port (which i don't recommend any more due to all support being dropped a long while back) But there are some great devices out there for keeping it quiet.
Some units will have software with drum samples and such with it, which are great to play along too. Lots of options out there, just depends on budget really. As above, Line 6 have some good gear that might be of interest. I am sure there are some budding guitarists that will recommend some other gear too!

Picked one of these up myself the other day off eBay for £25. Got to say it's a really nice sounding guitar, well worth £100

I've been playing for years and had a few guitars, and this is my favourite acoustic. An electro acoustic isn't really much quieter, and I usually find they are a bit harder to play whereas this has a very nice action for the beginner

Thanks for the reply - haha shows my naivety regarding the headphones. One of my friends is a guitarist who I should probably ask, but if I start playing I want to have a little tiny bit of ability before he knows about it - otherwise I can imagine the earache I'd get. Cheers for the advice

I would go for the F310. Epiphone is a subsidiary of Gibson and, in my view, Gibson should stick to making electric guitars  I passionately dislike their acoustics. I also personally don't like plastic tuning pegs.
Much of it is personal preference - but you can only determine that by actually playing the instruments and doing A/B comparisons. I would always recommend playing an instrument before purchasing. However, if you're just starting to learn then this is more difficult!
This is why people recommend the F310: it is a tried and tested starter guitar. You can't really go wrong with it.
An electro-acoustic will not be any quieter (though different guitars will of course be different in tone/volume depending on its construction) as it is simply an acoustic guitar, with some additional electronics!

So because you dislike their products it's rubbish, what nonsense, have you played a Pro-1 and plastic tuning pegs are the least of your worries when learning, even with a 'tried and tested' guitar there is NO guarantee it will be the one for you....jeez just what learners need more corksniffing baloney.
Go here and see what someone, who owns one, really thinks of the Pro-1:
One thing to budget for when buying, even a new guitar, is a Set-up, should be about £30ish foor and acoustic and will make the thing easier to play.

Make no mistake if you're reading this and thinking about taking it up, learning guitar is NOT fun, it is mostly boring and frustrating at the beginning and most people give up, only if you break through that, is it rewarding.

I enjoyed it when i first started. It can be frustrating but within a n hour or so i was pretty pleased with stuff i had picked up! Even if it was basic and didn't sound great. I have seen people RAGE though

Same here, almost in tears some....some people have more patience than others so it does vary but the amount of guitars we'd see traded by people who just gave up because 'it was too hard' was high....

a) I never said it was rubbish.
b) I said it was personal preference: much of buying guitars is. I don't like Gibson acoustics. You are entitled to a different opinion, of course.
c) I never said the F310 was for everyone. In fact, I implied the opposite when I stated that you should always play or hear an instrument being played before purchase.
d) The F310 has a strong reputation as being a good learner instrument. I don't see why you find that statement so problematic?
e) Again, on plastic tuning pegs: personal preference.

It's a great beautiful sounding guitar for the price. Anyone saying otherwise is a cock, or they cannot play
