XCOM 2 is the sequel to the 2012 Game of the Year, award-winning strategy game, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces and XCOM, the planet's last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda below and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to rise from the ashes, expose the insidious truth behind the occupation, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.
XCOM ON THE RUN: Take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM's mobile headquarters. Guide your strike force around the world, build popular support and expose the aliens' sinister plans.
RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree including new class abilities like Momentum, let you create specific soldiers for your tactical plan
TACTICAL GUERRILLA COMBAT: New gameplay systems offer more tactical flexibility in combat. The state of the world affects each combat mission's environment. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols. Loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts. Rescue VIPs and save fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point
A NEW BREED OF ENEMY: A diverse cast of enemies from powerful new alien species to the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime, offer a distinct tactical challenge
RESEARCH, DEVELOP AND UPGRADE: Configure and build rooms on the Avenger to give XCOM new capabilities on the battlefield. Use your Scientists and Engineers to research, develop and upgrade weapons and armor to fit your preferred tactics
EACH MISSION IS A UNIQUE CHALLENGE: Go on missions around the world, from wildlands to the heart of the alien-controlled megacities, to the depths of alien installations. There are virtually infinite combinations of maps, missions and goals
CREATE CUSTOM MODS: Community-focused tools allow you to create your own campaign, tactical gameplay, aliens, classes, strategy game features, and share within the Steam Workshop
ENGAGE IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MULTIPLAYER: Mix-and-match squads of humans and aliens and battle head-to-head on randomly-generated maps.

I'm being a bit facetious here however my point still stands, these are the same people who gave Civilization 5 9s and 10s considering the technical mess and downgrade it was from Civ 4. I'd be more shocked if this wasn't as good or better than the last XCom, however still expect there to technical bugs and missing features like controller support in keeping with Firaxis game launches.

I will wait a while it will soon drop in price, got stung on the pre order of Xcom Enemy Unknown so to speak, never again.
Saying it's a PC exclusive doesn't justify it not having a controller support considering how many people already have an Xbox controller and it use for the lean back experience on a PC. I don't if they've improved mouse support on this game but remembering how bad it was compared to the excellent controller support in first xcom I'd say it definitely needs it.
I love their games but it infuriates me how for every 2 steps forward they take a step back, like controller support, they perfected that on the first game, how does this not have? I wish they'd just take another 6 months and polish their games to the high quality that people deserve.

+1 from me. I actually had Enemy Unknown on Xbox 360 originally. While I really enjoyed the gameplay, I really didn't feel it was suited to a control pad at all and found it quite frustrating at times. I ultimately went on to get it cheap for PC and never touched the 360 version again!

1 Feb 161#31
This will be awesome. They've involved the team behind the long war mods from the last version.
The original (well reboot) XCOM I much prefered playing with a controller. It just seemed to flow a bit better because of how it was built. I often found myself mis-using abilities or moving accidently when trying to use something. They had controllers down perfectly to be fair.
However, you're right. Its an RTS thing. Majority of users likely prefer keyboards so it doesn't make sense to cater to the small population I exist in, especially if its not a console game.

I've seen that listed before on other games on Nuuvem but it has turned out to be incorrect (I know because I've bought and activated them). SteamDB also doesn't list a Brazil specific package for this game indicating that it isn't region locked.
VimesUK
2 Feb 162#52
Yeah I risked it. I got two keys right away and tried to add it to my Steam account. Steam recognised the keys as being "out of region" and not for use in my country. So I'm stuck now as I can't get a reply to my request for a refund.

3 Feb 16#58
lol you have to be joking right.....? People pirate games etc for many reasons, typically because they can. You find Android games etc pirated and they can, at times, cost as little as 10p....!
Paying full price for this game would not have bothered me too much due to the countless hours of pleasure from playing it. Divide those hours into the cost and then I consider the Cinema a rip off, not PC gaming.
tek-monkey to arsenalfan
3 Feb 16#59
Depends what you are after. I rarely buy AAA titles, they don't interest me, the last one I did buy was the last XCOM! I paid about £25 and played it for about 350 hours so it cost me about 7p an hour. That to me is an absolute bargain. I usually buy indie games that cost a few quid at most, or I get several in a bundle, but I rarely play any for more than a few hours. So despite being cheaper, they cost more per hour of entertainment.
I have no issue supporting good projects, I do have issue with console games being £50 or £60 despite being similar to the PC versions that cost £30 though!
Spark to arsenalfan
3 Feb 16#60
Actually, no they're not. They have been pretty much stagnant for the last few years since digital key sales really took off and the market became far more globalised. That is why I almost never pay over £20 for a new AAA game.
And in fact, a lot of the latest AAA games can't be pirated, at least not yet anyway. There is still no way to illegally obtain a working copy of FIFA 16 and that came out last September. Rise of the Tomb Raider uses an enhanced version of the Denuvo protection mechanism that was used on FIFA 16 as well so it could be a year or more before RotTR is cracked.
Denuvo is expensive and has failed in the past implementations e.g. MGS V but if it really proves itself like it looks to be doing right now (FIFA 16, Just Cause 3 etc) then it's likely that every AAA game will start using it before the end of this year.
Spark
3 Feb 16#61
Exactly, I paid £19 for the PC version of FO4 and I have put nearly 15 hours into it so far and have barely even scratched the surface.
Spark
3 Feb 16#62
This game doesn't have Denuvo by the way but that's because Denuvo isn't very mod tolerant atm and 2K/Firaxis really back the modding community for this game.
You can bet your **** that mod support will be on the Denuvo development roadmap though. The call of trying to sell it to Bethesda alone will see to that. The list of publishers who are adopting it seems to be growing all the time.
Looks like this will be the cheapest deal. Is CDkeys a pretty reputable company?
