On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Hand of Fate ($19.99 ERP) for free during the month of February. Styx: Master of Shadows ($29.99 ERP) will be available as a free download from February 16th to March 15th.

On Xbox 360, starting Monday, 01 February, Sacred Citadel ($9.99 ERP) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through February 15th. Then on February 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Gears of War 2 ($19.99 ERP) for free through February 29th.

Hand of Fate is excellent, really unique game. Styx was a good game if you're patient with us, which most people aren't.

Styx is very underrated. Give it a bit of time and it will grow on you.
Just be sure to save often.

Styx 2 is in development.

They give away the GOW 2 so that if you want to know what happened before you buy the first one and if you want to know what happens next then buy the third one, lol. Classic.

both consoles rubbish. I remember when it used to just be ps doing the free games and I didn't have ps they used to be getting cracking deals. Both are 50% unheard of unreleased indy now

Hand of fate has always interested me. Sick of people saying 'these games arnt good enough or are too short' yet havnt even tried them. Coz it's not classed as triple A its a bad game

Bad month for me, the GwG is even less inspiring than the PS4 PS+ offering.

I already had Styx free on PS+ and didn't like it very much back then, got zero interest in Sacred Citadel, and apart from GOW2 being ancient and them already giving away 2 of the more recent games in the series ages ago, I've already got it in my download queue (where it'll probably stay forever) from playing GOW Ultimate. Oh well, at least I've never played Hand of Fate, maybe it'll be an undiscovered gem, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Assuming that you don't have an Xbox 360, you need to redeem the games via the web store. They'll then show up for download, provided that (as will be the case for all new GWG inclusions) they support backwards-compatibility.

you can save it every month. you don't need to download them... I've only downloaded a few of the gwg games. For 20 quid a year it's a pretty good deal!

12 months for £21 was readily available before Christmas, but many places seem to have put up their prices since then (notably including cdkeys.com).

Why bother? Just double up - I just use the Xbone for the exclusives (I bought mine JUST for Rare Replay initially, plus the new Tomb Raider, though I am kicking myself it got such a quick release on PC), plus my mate has one so I decided to get into FIFA for the first time and now I'm nearly kicking his ass, and he's been playing it for years and years lol!

PC for everything else although talking of doubling up I am going to buy Rocket League again for Xbone.

Got my Wii U as well for the Nintendo exclusives, couldn't live without those "proper" games :wink:

Xbox Live Gold was never about free games, it's the service which is considerably better than elsewhere in terms of updates, stability, features such as backwards compatibility and external hard drive support. Free games with Gold came about because Sony started charging for it's online multiplayer and offered free games as compensation so Microsoft followed suit so it's all good. Anyway heat for four free games that will go on my 5TB Hard-drive.
