Thanks, but if you know, will this get me into the concrete basement of my local safety deposit box place?

Low 1.3Ah ...plus an amazing 10mm chuck says it all

Can anyone comment on the 1.3Ah battery life??? I wouldn't be using it professionally, but would like a days use around the house.........

This is misleading as the drill on offer from Argos is the lowest model and not the hammer drill version with 13mm chuck.. However you can get the second best version from their brushless drill for less @ 54.99 here http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2482509.htm

Exactly, trying to use a battery drill for brick/concrete just daft, you inevitably burn it out, whatever manufacturers say

22 Feb 16#29
will these do well with concrete? I have a few drills but they all struggle with concrete..

no don't get it unless you are doing it rarely ! 240v is the way to go

No chance mate.. these drills are only good for helping you put your Ikea flat pack together. you're better off buying their 20v cordless SDS drill which can be used as a regular drill driver also.
I agree that the Worx description doesn't agree with the Argos one.. Maybe Worx has upgraded this model to have bigger capacity batteries and faster charge time and Argos are selling off old stock (1.3AH batteries as stated)??
kers
23 Feb 161#45
Very confusing as Argos are selling the 372 bare hammer drill, no bag no batt, no charger for 59.99 yet the link I provided above gets you the same drill with 2 x batt. charger and even a bag to put them in.. I checked my local store and they have one left..

Agreed, (see my post #34 above listing differences). I've ordered the 372 model (which you linked to above) and picking up tomorrow. The 372 has more torque, bigger chuck, weighs a little more, has higher speeds, ... better all round and £5 cheaper..

Maximum torque 30Nm + 3 hour charge time!. Do people really understand that this drill is rubbish?.

This drill is not brushless. in fact it's the lowest model of the Worx line up of drills.

The batteries look the same as dewalt - anyone know if they are interchangeable?
bexta1 to centaurandrew
22 Feb 16#18
I have an old dewalt drill and the connections are definitely different the batteries for this drill slide into the charger the dewalt ones used to just drop in hope this helps

Absolutely NOT but they are compatible with the JCB tools.

Looks like Argos has the description wrong. According to Worx website this has 2 x batteries both @ 2.0Ah and comes with a 1 hour charger.

Lot of developments in lithium ion power tools now, such as brushless motors, higher battery Ah, single action chuck with better jaw<>tool locking and faster recharging times for the batteries. Best now take only an hour for a complete recharge from exhaustion. Worth it if you are giving your drill some stick. I would pay the extra for that alone.

Ah I've found it. There's also the wx372.3 model on offer for £54.99 with two batteries, anyone know if that's a better model?

22 Feb 16#34
The specs for the WX372.3 look better unless I'm missing something here.. see below for comparison (and it's £5 cheaper) .. Have just ordered the WX372.3 model from Argos at £54.99 as I missed out on the Homebase deal a few weeks ago.
Argos site, not showing the WX372.3 specs when I checked, but the Worx website shows:-
WX372.3
Chuck capacity 13mm ............... (compared to 10mm for this deal)
Machine weight 1.65kg ...............(this deal 1.3kg)
Speed 0-550 , 0-1800 .................(this one 0-350 , 0-1300)
Max drilling Capacity:-
Steel 13mm ...............................(this deal) 10mm
Wood 40mm...............................(this deal) 30mm
Clutch positions 22+1+1.............(this deal) 18+1+1
Max Torque 50nm ......................(this deal) 30nm

Just reserved one. Thanks. Should make building the decking much easier, when the weathers better that is
ignore the doom sayers though....it's a decent drill for £60

Its not 20v either is dewalt. Not that it matters just pointing it out. Its five 3.7v cells. All 18v li-ion tools when fully charged will hit about 20-21v. Calling them 20v is just marketing.
Apart from that stop worrying about batts dying. 18650 cells are easy and cheap to come by and easy to replace.
10mm chuck will be an issue for some people.. If they want to use a decent hole saw for example. If you are just using this about the house and garden its going to be great for 99% of people

not for me - have a worx at work and it's a very good drill for the money - but this one has only a 10mm chuck and 1.3Ah Li-Ion battery seems a little small even if it is 20v- I will wait for the WX373.2 to be on offer! (voted hot for the price)

My last drill of 20 years is still in good Nick but the batteries have failed. That's why I'm buying this. I don't think I'll lose much sleep worrying about the batteries.

batteries will fail before long before the main unit will and we know how expensive are to replace. So, brushless or not I consider it insignificant if it is better
Would snap this up if it was the brushless. Still may, but don't think so. I'll wait I think

Decent tools by Positec (Rockwell in the US) . They also make some of the Erbauers (Screwix's brand). Potential problem with spares but good quality overall and 3 years DIY guarantee (if registered within 30 days https://www.worx.com/en-GB/DIY-3-Year-Warranty.aspx ).
