Went into the Walsall Argos clearance store today (looking for something else) and noticed these for sale. I checked the price for both bundles wth the young girl behind the desk and she confirmed both bundles at £139.99.
Obviously there are only 2 or 3 Argos clearance stores in the UK with Walsall being one so only great if you're local really. Not even sure if they will be available this price in the other clearance stores.
Just thought I'd post as it could be a steal for someone!

Who honestly cares which console some random on the internet prefers?
Wii U will be dead in 12 months, but has far better exclusives. PS4/XBO won't be dead in 12 months, but neither have such great exclusives, far better multi-plat, clearly.
But, stop hating on others, buy the console you prefer and play the games, why can't we all just get along?

That is the same as the Walsall one as stock change regularly...went before Christmas and dropped lucky to get a 2TB Seagate external portable HD which I knew could be cracked open and drive used in the PS4 for £40.
As for people dissing this deal, ridiculous.
I picked up (not at Walsall Clearance Bargains) just under two years ago the Wii U Mario & Luigi pack from Argos Clearance on eBay for £170, a steal of a price at the time, and again marked up as 'refurb', came as a managers clearance stickered item, box a little bit dinged up, contents all mint and sealed.
As for those criticising the Wii U...I own both a PS4 as mentioned and a Wii U and owning both over the past two years I have had far more exclusive games for the Wii U whilst the PS4 slowly picks up the pace.

Iv got a wii u and played about 4 times at 20 min each. Maybe got a long library of games most at a premium price unless u get lucky but by christ it gets boring ur so limited to what u can do on the console itself. Plus if u wanna play the wii games u need to attach the wii u to the TV have the hassle of the sensor bar then added stress off the wii remotes then the nunchuck defeats the purpose off the wii u if u ask me. That's why most my games are sealed and not played more of an ornament.

What home console out there doesn't attach to the TV though? Is a bit like saying your DVD or Freeview Box sucks and never gets used because it needs connected to the TV. I have 4 Wii U Remotes... and don't feel stressed out. Not really understanding what the stress of the Remotes is either?
And re your 'it gets boring' comment, maybe video gaming just isn't for you?

I have an xbox one, ps4 and wii u. The xbox one rarely gets turned on, the ps4 gets a reasonable amount of use, but the wii u gets more use than the other 2 together. There may not be 30 games a month being released for the wii u, but the quality of the games is very good on the whole, in my opinion.

The whole thing about the wii u was that u could play off tv but if u wanna play the wii games is more hassle why not just keep the wii if that was the case for me the biggest feature over the wii was that u could play on the game pad. As for gaming not for me well sorry but I preferred my nes to the wii u. That's proper retro gaming can't beat it.

Serious questions. How many games are worth owning on the PS4? How many games are worth owning on the Xbox One? How many games are worth owning on the Wii U? I think you'll find the numbers are pretty similar and the Wii U titles are more diverse.

I've had a PS4 since last summer and I've got DriveClub, Project Cars, The Last of Us, Uncharted Collection, Tomb Raider DE, Metal Gear Solid 5, Mad Max, Batman Arkham Knight, Little Big Planet and Tearaway Unfolded. There's also some great Indie games available on PS4 - I thoroughly enjoyed Journey. I like the PS4 AND the Wii U and see no benefit in all the bickering.
Domislice
1 Feb 161#40
Agreed. I was just pointing out there are as many titles worth owning a Wii U for as there are for the Xbox and PS4 and if anything the Wii U titles cover more genres (which I personally like, I understand some people like to stick with similar games).

I cannot say I was much of a fan of the original Wii, that was far more an example of quantity over quality due to the novelty aspect of shaking the Wii-mote and it cross marketed from everyone from grannies to gamers, I personally feel the Wii U falls less into this trap.
Comparing it to my PS4, both of which I have owned for around the same time period I would say there are more quality exclusive titles on the Wii U, which unsurprisingly (at least to me) is one of the reasons I bought it as a multi console owner.
I cannot say personally I would ever want any Nintendo console either now or historically as my one go to option due to the fact I generally only play Nintendo exclusive titles on them, but I have had more exclusives and use out of my Wii U than my PS4 over the same time period for sure.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Yoshi's Woolly World, Lego City Undercover, Super Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2, New Super Mario Bros U, Mario Kart 8, Nintendoland, Zombi U (A 3 year exclusive), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Super Mario Smash Bros, Monster Hunter 3, Splatoon, Pikmin 3, Super Mario Maker, Pushmo World etc are highly rated titles.
Then there are third party titles that have elements that have made them play superiorly to other console counterparts, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Bayonetta, Rayman Legends, Batman Arkham City, Freedom Planet (only available on PC/Linux). Then there is the highly rated Freedom Planet exclusive to PC/Linux/Wii U.
I am not a fanboy...and to you not even a 'gamer' according to your maligned rant on your 'journalistic' post of afore on the 'gameboy' 2DS. But the reason I own Nintendo consoles is to play the few exclusives released for them that you simply cannot get elsewhere, obviously looking at the Wii U output if you are not a fan of Mario steer clear.

1 Feb 16#43
Good for you.
Now I'll reiterate my point without mentioning any other console: there aren't 600+ games made for the Wii U, which is what the other guy was trying to say there is available for it.
It was misinformation that I felt the need to correct.
I voted hot for the Mario n Luigi deal, as at £140, it seems 'reasonable'.
Not Splatoon though, CEX are carrying loads of it and it's on here for £20.

Spot on.
But is the vilification not a masked mark of respect and compliment to the Wii U? As it primarily comes from XB/PS fans who dislike what Nintendo do, it usually has strong hints of dissatisfaction and discontent with what they have. Everyone, Nintendo fan or not is aware you get something very good and unique on a Nintendo console that you will never get on rival consoles.
Easily solved by just having a 2nd console and spreading the love of course. But I guess its cheaper and easier just to hate a certain console and spread genocidal attitudes towards it.
noahsdad
2 Feb 16#51
The same site lists the XB and PS at 900 games approx each. There is little difference. And it does not factor in quality vs quantity or that other console titles are 50% made up of generic shooters.
The Wii U is only dead when:-
(a) You can't buy it anywhere (or its being given away dirt cheap)
(b) Game production has ceased
(c) People stop buying the Wii U.
(d) It has been superceded (which is defined as a new console has been released and is available to consumers for purchase).
Long live the Wii U? Hail the Wii U? A very fine machine with some cracking software.

I certainly feel a lot of criticism of Nintendo and Wii U is certainly maligned.
Since the Gamecube I certainly have my own level of criticism towards Nintendo, although as you say you get something unique some of their franchises have become stale in their recycled nature...although that maybe because I am an ageing gamer that has already seen x, y or z from Nintendo, although look at Halo, Uncharted, the multi format CoD, Assassins Creed etc.
I do feel Nintendo need more new IPs if they cannot get the strength of third party publishers behind them, but as long as platform games are of interest to me, no matter how much I love owing Playstation consoles....Nintendo will always be my other port of call.

I am happy to agree with you on that. It was only posted as a response to the usual post here on there only being 20 games for the Wii U. I now realise that post was tounge in check, however there is not 20 games as often posted. There is a perfectly adequate amount. And the difference between game library volume of the various consoles, is very insignificant and minimal, would you not agree?
