The high capacity battery should have been standard imo.
I got mine from Amazon for £19.87 a while ago, at the moment as of the 15/2/16 they're £28.95!!!! The Nintendo store are selling them for £24.99. So I recommend you get one if you haven't already.
Just noticed the previous lightening deal for £5. Oh well 19.50 is the cheapest I can find at the mo.

I got mine back when Amazon France had it on sale for £16 and since then it's been very useful because I'd hate to always use the damn charging cable. It's a bit inconvenient and especially if the user isn't near to the TV. Well, not sure 8hrs counts as "lasts ages" but certainly much longer than the original (3hrs). They last for about 8hrs so it's an improvement.

Are these worthwhile? How much difference do they make to charge/play times?

These are essential.
the original battery is a joke and kasts only maybe 3 hours..with these you get a decent 8ish.

This is not a bargain especially when compared to the previous deal.

It really was a 5'er on Amazon - several times over the Christmas period.
This price sucks wang.

Got mine in the £5 Amazon deal. I think it has made a difference, when the lads leave the Wii U game pad lying around after playing, it's not ran out on me yet. Previously I'd always find it left and out of charge. Worth it if you hammer your Wii U as it appears to last significantly longer.

worth it for the extra "wireless" playtime you get.....but surely nintendo should have included this battery inside the unit at launch? another example of greed im afraid nintendo....

Yea,but at least they acknowledged the problem, came with a solution and gave us the option, not the case with PS4 controller, the battery is awful on them, compared to PS3 or Xbox One controller (that lasts forever) and Sony has done nothing about it.

Your not wrong, but then I almost feel lucky I got the charging adapter, they stopped including this as standard with new 3DS consoles about a year or two ago.

Nope as others have said, 3 days ago it was out of stock and the price had gone up to £24. And it's still out of stock. This should have been marked as expired days ago. And this is supposed to be a bargain thread, it was never a bargain.
