for some of cold voters out there, who are bring vindictive towards me. If you actually look at the frame and load capacity, you realize this beats the men health one, in argos.hands down. Which is allot more in price

I thought I added it. But the website being so slow, something went wrong. So no issue with me.

Because all weight benches are fold up in nice neat in cardboard boxes. Dont be stupid!
As for no weights, who wants those plastic cement weights. They are rubish

If you want weights and a folding bench then this is the best i could find
* note that is NOT me working out on said bench.. I have much bigger GUNS!..

Can you do front leg curls with this?

26 Feb 16#14
Nice bit of kit for the money... I bought a Kettler Torso last spring, never took it out of it's box due to lack of leg curl / benching facility. I will sell that and buy this instead.
Thank you OP.

max user weight 150kg... would that mean that's the maximum weight the bench could cope with me lifting, or the max weight of me *and* the bench combined? if the latter, i'm going to have to find something stronger... :disappointed: shame, because it looks pretty well built for the money.

looks weird... like they have sort of designed it to look stable and added bits on here and there 'just because'
also looks like the stands will be in the way when benching but i am not sure of the dimensions
says 140cm wide but then you are going to need a 7 foot bar but thats not a 7 foot bar in the pic
i like the way the 'long barbell' set they sell is labelled 120cm - surely not?
be fun trying together with this!

Having no weights with it is good because it means it will take up less room when it's gathering dust in your cupboard/shed/spare room.

I'm trying to work out, if this would be any good for squats

27 Feb 16#20
The Aldi bench is a wider bench. Judging by the space in between the headrest and bar rests. I have a York 530 and that space feels cramped. Looks like the Argos ones are the same. This compares more withe maximus ones

27 Feb 16#21
whats to work out?

27 Feb 16#22
It wouldn't. You'd probably want to look for a squat rack/cage

27 Feb 16#23
Could do with knowing this, lifting 100kg would mean I'd have to get down to featherweight, which is kind of going against the reason for buying it

Excellent for hanging clothes when not in use

27 Feb 16#25
Looking at the construction, the barbell stays are more supported at the side with the bench supported in the middle. I'm guessing the 150kg limit is probably for a loaded barbell as opposed to weight plus bodyweight. Looks good design and value for money, nice to have preacher pad with it.

Go on aldi website, looks like bar set and weights. weights just over £1 a kg. looks decent to me for a home set, plates max 10kg which isn't the best though.

Picked one up from Castleford store at approx 3pm, they had 5 or 6 left.
Didn't go for the bar and weights though - the bar was packaged in a way that it must be in two pieces, no way would I trust a bar like that.

The weights are not great value. Your better off watching on here for something.

Did you? Ironically on Thursday night, my parents phoned me and said there was in one in store in camborne.I paid £39.99. Like the previous person who said they paid that price. I was going to buy it when it was £59.99, but it went out of stock.
I am pretty happy with what I got. It's definitely the most sturdy bench i have ever owned. The frame is solid, once you get it built. It ways around 40kg. Which is pretty heavy. But heavy isnt a bad thing in this instance.
It's well packaged, and quality workmanship. Now I just got to get a new bar. As my <5ft one, is way to short.
Anyone know where to get cheap 1" bars to then? From intial measurements i took, i need a 6.4ft + one. Or am I wrong?
The manual is some what poor at best. As if you follow the exact instructions, you need to keep flipping over the booklet from the setting up the 1 of the 6 sections break down, to the specifiate parts, and to the actual diagram for reference. Got there eventually. I am pretty sure this will last a very very long time.
It's definitely the dogs **** for £40

Aldi reduction prices seem to be store specific or managers decision as we have 3 stores within 3 miles of each other and the reduction prices vary eg a drill 29.99 down to 24.99 at one store and 19.99 at the other store and the other store hadn't even reduced it yet

Spot on Lee, this is one of the best constructed ones out there for less than a £100 ;-)
