Opened up an account the last time specifically for the Seagate one using the same code. Never got it due to OOS. Also my card details keeps reappearing even when I removed it. Not too fond of having it some merchant server when I'm not a regular customer.

That won't connect it to the internal sata socket will it?
Use one of these for xbone games and it's absolutely perfect. Not a very durable feeling drive compared to the passport range, but for something that just gets stuffed behind a console or used for occasional backups it's ideal.

I ordered one of these yesterday for delivery today. Unfortunately I just had a call from Sainsburys saying they don't have any in stock and could they substitute something similar. The closest he had was £40 more. Really nice bloke but terrible setup with Sainsburys online. Stock isn't checked at a store before orders are taken he said. Oh and they don't send cancellation emails either. Very disappointing.

14 Feb 16#60
I waited in for 2 hours yesterday - no delivery. Phoned customer services, who couldn't get hold of the store!
They finally called me today to let me know they had cancelled the order. Fortunately, I had ticked the "no substitute" box - otherwise I would have been given the 1TB drive.
Apparently, stocks of this item are extremely limited UK-wide - so most people will probably have their orders cancelled, and you can't back-order the item either. Bunch of gerbils!

Pot luck really, depending on your local store.
Just be sure to select "do not substitute if not available" option, and don't expect to be called / emailed if the product isn't in stock - they just won't turn up!

15 Feb 16#69
So I got mine a little while ago. It's not a substitute as far as I can tell, however the physical receipt attached to the order says £68 with no mention of the £18 discount anywhere.
I won't know for sure until my bank account updates to let me know whether they charged me 50 or 68, but it's looking like I may have to make a call to customer services. Anyone else getting this?

Just had to reject my delivery as got substituted for 1GB @£50
Wondering if I could still use the first order code?
cb-uk to blacksky200
15 Feb 16#71
Nope, you can't. However, if you call customer services and give them your order reference, they will give you an £18 evoucher code.
HTH
adriandocherty
16 Feb 16#72
Mine didn't arrive, when I chased, it was because the store was OOS. They apologised and sent me an £18 evoucher, valid for 2 years, which I presume can be used for anything. So, I'm £18 richer and no drive.
cb-uk to adriandocherty
16 Feb 16#75
Well, kind of.
The £18 voucher is to replace the £18 new customer code you used to buy the drive in the first place. The new customer code can only be used once per account/address, and as far as the Sainsburys system is concerned you've now used it - even though the item was never delivered.
So, you haven't really got £18 of extra "free" money - you've now got a £18 new customer code which is valid for 2 years. Which just goes to show how completely sh.1te the Sainsburys online system is:
- No online stock checking
- If item isn't available, they automatically cancel your order
- If they cancel your order, they don't email or phone you to let you know
- They won't transfer stock between stores
- If you haven't ticked the "don't substitute" box, they will try to deliver another smaller/more expensive hard drive and still charge you for delivery
All in all, a bit of a peace take given the size of their company.

My delivery on Sunday evening didn't turn up. Called helpline to complain and asked them to tell me why I didn't have any missed calls telling me the order had been cancelled and why I did receive texts telling me to expect my delivery.
Got a call today from a lovely woman who went and checked on the shop floor and they had one in stock. She promised me it at the £50, I was very chuffed.
I am just back from collecting it, she had left me a £5 gift card and when it was rung through the till it took £8 off. All in all effectively cost me £37.
