Motorola's MBP18 Digital Video Baby Monitor will give you the reassurance that your child is resting peacefully. Equipped with 2.4 GHz FHSS technology for sound clarity, you can feel comfortable that your little one will come through loud and clear when they need you. A 1.8-inch LCD colour display shows video monitoring, with infrared night vision. Data encryption is built-in for added security.
2.4 GHz FHSS wireless technology
The 2.4 GHz FHSS wireless technology offers a more reliable wireless connection than previous cordless technologies, which means better range and less chance of missing something important in your baby's room due to a weak or dropped signal.
Colour LCD screen with infrared night vision
A full-colour 1.8-inch LCD display shows real-time video and sound in your baby's room, letting you keep informed of what's going on visually as well as audibly. Infrared night vision means you can also stay in touch with what's going in your baby's room without any lights to disturb little sleepers.

Judging from the sheer number of f'ing tedious baby photos on the internet I would say that everyone is constantly monitoring their baby anyway.

Apparently there's word that people can hack into baby monitors?

It's a great monitor, sensitive and clear (incl night vision). Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. They can only be hacked if using WiFi.

Apparently this is one of the rare baby monitors that's actually secure (and at least one journalist paid security researchers to test this, only to be very disappointed that it lived up the the marketing claims and they couldn't get a juicy story out of it).

I agree. I bought this a few weeks ago when it was this price. It is fairly basic but I haven't had any of the problems that others have described. Picture is good, no interference from wifi and works a treat. The screen is fairly small but the picture is fine - even in almost pitch black.

I have this and also the MBP36 for which I paid over £100 about 2 years ago (it's around £80 now). I purchased this cheaper monitor for my in-laws and its rubbish in comparison. Worth paying extra for a better monitor in my opinion. Much better picture and functionality.

We took advantage of this deal a few weeks back but sent it back as the monitor screen is tiny. Worth it for the use of sound but not for visual.

Each to their own but we have had ours for 16 months and think its bloody brilliant!! And we paid over £50 for it.
Picture is crystal clear, even at night. Handset has cracking range and battery life when not plugged into mains is great!
Can't fault it at all!

Definately hot for £23!
Was going to go for an IP camera but this is cheap and will avoid dependency on wifi and your phone being constantly on to see anything.
Hot.

I own this camera/monitor. Very decent for the price.
A few minor complaints - camera angle ins quite narrow compared to a Tomy one that I also have so the camera needs to be positioned quite far from the Cot/Bed to fit the desired area into shot.
The mains cable connection is quite fragile on the monitor unit and I've had to buy 2 replacements.
Affected by wifi when laptops/tablets/mobiles are in use - results in loss of picture for a second or two but also has an annoying bleep. My Tomy system is not affected by this.
Major plus is the monitor units battery life.
Yes, and 46 that gave it less than 5. And many that gave 5 still commented complaining about the battery life.

I got the all singing and dancing WiFi Motorola, which has a handset and WiFi to tablet. After a week I swapped to this, saving over £110. In my opinion you don't need to see your baby's face in 4k ultra HD, you just need to see if they are sleeping or awake. This one does the job. Though the sonos owning, raspberry pi tweaking geek misses the tech
P.s. Most parents I chat do end up doing away with the fancy monitors as the baby will let you know

May be cheap but reviews are pretty poor. Even the one that only paid 29.99 only gave 3 stars!

There are also 51 people that gave it 5 stars and some of those more than likely paid more then 29.99.

better to get a cheap WiFi camera and view from a tablet or phone. just make sure its passworded.

No it's not. The point of a baby monitor is that you are constantly monitoring the baby. There is generally nothing to go wrong, unlike a phone/tablet/router/WiFi connection that will/may be used for other things and interrupt the monitoring.
