Had some of these vouchers last year - and glad to say was pleased to use them up. Tend to be 'lower level' hotels (and I usually stay Travelodges & Premier Inns) and had nightmare trying to find availability at weekends at the 'nicer' ones. Thought I'd got a great deal, but was more stress & hassle than was worth imho.

You cant book until after you've paid and then there are all sorts of restrictions and low grade hotels to boot. What sort of deal is that.

I believe it's per room, not per person, so it depends on if there are 1 or 2 people staying!

Is that code specific to hotel breaks or is it for all Buyagift deals?

...and don't be fooled by the lovely pics of the rooms. they are about 50 quid extra per night. but anyhow. it's a good deal if you don't mind having the hotels cheapest room.

Not entirely sure re hotels and availability. However Buyagift also on Quidco with 15% off and 15% Cashback. Does that mean £70??

Oh yes forgot that one - got all excited at my 'extra saving' - looked like all had tracked, but then rejected.
Echo comment about being as cheap to book direct (with greater choice of availability) rather than getting a voucher.
Will stick to Groupon, KGB, Travel Zoo, et al for my bargain breaks in future!

I'd give the hotel you'd like to stay at a ring and enquire about staying at your preferred dates. If they have availability, buy the voucher and then call them back to book.

You find the hotel and email/phone the owner stating it's a Buyagift voucher. Sometimes you get a 'less desirable' room and other times it's the same as other guests. They take the Buyagift voucher number and code on booking and then claim the money back from Buyagift. As others have already said - sometimes it's cheaper to book direct with the hotel and not use a voucher, as it can be quite a hassle finding availability for the dates you want. If you don't mind when or where then it might work for you.

Many of the hotels only let you use them over the winter months so it's not really 10 months, and the available dates are very limited. Also some of them add their own supplement (£20 a night per person @ Afon Rhaiadr ) or insist that you eat in their restaurant and spend a minimum amount (Carlton Riverside) - which is not actually stated on Buyagift website.

Sorry for being thick, how does this work?
You buy the voucher which then entitles you two "two nights at (a) hotel".
How do you then book the actual hotel and dates you want? If you did it normally you'd have to pay again?

They had 25% on Valentine's. Also TCB is allegedly tracking - but they refused my last one.
Lots of poor hotels - but if you find a decent one its almost cheaper than staying at home. I've had a couple and had mixed results. But you must be realistic. Also, you need to be committed. Changing reservations can prove tricky.

I've stayed at some of their hotels. There are quite severe restrictions on availability at some of the hotels and the dates available may only cost you the same amount if booked direct. However there are some decent hotels in amongst the dross - not going to say which ones as I may take up the offer

When it says you have 10 months is that to use the code? Or would I have to use it immediately in the upcoming 10 month period? Also, any idea on the standard of the hotels? Was tempted to go to Rome in June, not sure if it'd be better to wait it out for another offer though.
