What difference does it really make, the ring is just a symbol. I don't see wealthy people having longer marriages just because they spent more on a ring.

When people get married doesn't it say "as a token" when rings are exchanged? A ring is symbolic of ones commitment, "for richer or poorer", not of ones wealth or status. A lot of this thread is indicative of the failings in our society , too much emphasis placed on material objects rather than the love and commitment that wearing this ring would mean to the people using this as a wedding or eternity ring.

I had a stainless steel ring for about a fiver from Ebay so that I could afford a platinum one for my wife.

Some people here are really pathetic. Marriage is not about blink-blink ring and show off place and ceremony (lot of girls should realise, that they are not real princesses). It's about that day by day life with person which you chose to spend (hopefully) rest of your days. I'm quite young, but I'm still surprised how people are shallow and small-mind in this most important choice in life. Marriage is now like a phone contact (many times even less then 18 months lol).

I agree that it's about material objects, but that doesn't mean everyone has to be materialistic does it? Surely some people are here to find a bargain for something they need, or for a different idea of a product within an affordable range. Personally I don't think anyone should be ridiculed for sticking to a budget, and if this means they have an extra bit of money for something else then good luck to them. The money saved could be someones honeymoon, one night in a travelodge is better than nothing. <3

Having never bought any jewellery from argos, does anyone know about the sizing? Does it come in sizes or just a standard size?

Hot from me, I had a titanium ring custom made and sent from america for my wedding band - I like the symbolism of durability and that titanium if finished well is actually a very attractive metal.
Mine cost 20x what this does, so, in my opinion, Hot.

when I got married I paid nearly £500 for my ring but also got a cheapo titanium one to wear whilst working to avoid wrecking the original

i wish I had done that! near enough £900 for mine and the finish was trashed in about a year and Ernest Jones wanted £30 to redo it. Had soooo many problems with that company though!

Couldn't have put it better myself.
If the deal doesn't suit you, then you simply don't buy.
I'm in no need of this myself, but I'm pretty sure there will be plenty who are.
This is a deals forum, not a stage to boast or berate an individual's status.

Surely looking down on the price of a ring, is exactly the opposite of "class", you cannot buy class, you either have it or you don't. Stuffing a 'diamond' into the ring would in my opinion lower it's class level, but the price doesn't.
My titanium wedding ring was chosen because it was very light (pretty much the lightest rings available for men), didn't contain any precious jewels, and was cheap, because I saw no reason to spend lots of money, plus at the time when I got married, titanium wedding rings couldn't be bought for more than £20 and as I said, it was the properties of titanium that mattered.

I'm a bloke, so I'm not sure it'd fit, but if that meant something to a couple why not? The meaning of something is surely more important than the material it is made out of.
