Amazon seem to have price matched Asda on this, works out better for me as I have prime & my nearest Asda is 20 miles away. Excellent reviews across the net.

The price has been bouncing between £6 and £9 for a while now at Amazon.
I keep thinking of getting one because I think it looks smart with the hammertone....
500ml is about 2 regular mug size.
You can save extra 30p by going through amazon warehouse only £5.70, used flask anyone??

Important to the longevity of the item... what is the stopper made from?
Plastic crumbles after a few years of regular use, making for an altogether **** flask, my 1.8 litre thermos (found, new not bought) has a naff plastic thin bung which is going to die soon, after less than a years use daily.
The catch with the likes of thermos when I rang them is that you cannot register your item BUT they claim to have a long warranty ...this is BS as till receipts et al fade over time, even stored away, it is a bad con having reduced a once household, respected name nothing more than another run of the mill brand.
(I have numerous thermos items purchased cheaply, not knocking the deal, just a frequently found shortcoming or two).

Whilst that's logical it should be implemented for anything PRIOR to a claim, they are cheap a*sed sharks refusing to operate in this manner.
I want to register a warranty NOT a claim, but thermos UK distributors on the phone are to thick, stupid, & unwilling because it means folks will claim, so its a closed loop system, can't register cannot claim 99% of the time, money saved! (for them) suspect practise doubtful as to legality.

Bear in mind that the smaller the flask, the less time it will keep things hot or cold, and in my experience the stainless steel ones are not as good as the glass ones - that's the price you pay for them being less fragile.

Pib, going to sound like a thermos (type) nerd here, but due to the amount of stock, cooking & time we have a 1.8 litre glasswall with crap polystyrene insulation in it, a 1 litre double wall s/steel & a 600mm doube wall s/steel..
the performance between the larger units is comparable, perhaps based on breakdown of the bung, (thicker plastic compared to the weedy thermos) but both hold good for a similar period.
Certainly makes re-heating ( water for tea coffee) in a hurry easier ..as the re-boil is a handful of seconds next morning in order to not hang around for the initial cuppa against the clock.
Typical temp is 12-14c in the kitchen, & both flasks are hot to "finger dip" 20 hrs later if kept full & undisturbed.
The weak point for the thermos is its thin cruddy plastic screwcap lid (hollow flip top) anything less than a solid bung without easy pour straws etc is going to have a detrimental effect on the length of time liquid stays usefully hot, however thats the way these people design it for the ill informed masses!
the heat rises ...straight through the weakest point (the lid) thereforea thick solid lid is a pre-requisite in design but ignored on price point!
large thermos is plastic outer casing.
..just to confuse things. :wink:
for food storeage i'd not use plastic, however lids always are sadly, & silicone seals need major attention to hygiene in cleaning ..especially greek yoghurt used in a food vacuum container.
For the Bento "alladin europe" the plastic colour stains big time when a nice hot curry & rice is added, but hey, that's the cost of convnience ..always opt for darker colours when buying hot food storage containers your gloop will be in contact with.

Possible, but if you haven't got the stability then yo risk damaging the vacuum, / liner & why not simply design well from the outset rather than half as*ed ?
It would go some way but also has its own inherent risks.
