It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than himself. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

Really not a great film, but I have to say that the first 10 minutes came closer than any other attempt i've ever seen to actually capturing the true essence of Spiderman. The rest of the film rapidly went downhill after that.

Don't worry, next years 're-reboot' might actually live up to your standards

Funny thing is, I actually quite like the first one featuring Andrew Garfield. Even saw it in 3D and it wasn't too bad at all.
This one just went down the 'too many villains' route again.

go to YouTube and find honest trailers, to find out why this film was a disappointment. and why the trailer is the film

Should have been FAR better than it was WAAAAAAY too much lovey dovey crap between Parker and Gwen, nowhere near enough of the Green Goblin. Seemed like half the bloody film was soppy on-off romance drivvel. Dunno who the editor was, but they shouldn't work in movies again
The problem WASN'T "too many villains" just not used correctly - and pretty as Emma is, far too much bloody love story - AND too much shoulder to cry on between Peter and Harry Osborn. That went on interminably too

I'm not sure you understand the editor's job remit.
They cut the film to deliver the story. They don't dictate number of scenes. And all of this is overseen by the director.
For the record: the editor is Pietro Scalia whose work has included: Gladiator, Kick-Ass, Good Will Hunting and The Martian.
The director is Marc Webb - which is where I would seat the blame, alongside the committee of writers, including Alex Kurtzman (whose previous credits explain a lot).
Love is an inherent theme in Spider-Man. One could argue a core value. Peter's love for Mary-Jane, Gwen, Uncle Ben, Harry & Aunt May.
If you took away one of these balances, the character is no longer Peter Parker.
This is a poor argument levelled at the 3rd film in the Raimi series - which I still feel does a competent job, despite its detractors.

Couldn't agree more. If you took away the essential love element then her death would have meant nothing.
You are right about the writing too. The trouble being that Alex Kurtzman is a mate of JJ Abrams and in my opinion gets a lot of work because of that reason and not due to his writing skills.

I didn't like this movie that much even though I'm a big Spidey fan.
One of the big problems was Electro's and Harry's motivation were unconvincing.
And Harry and Peter's friendship was so fake!
They're apparently best friends but haven't spoken for 10 years!!??
What were they thinking!
But considering it's £1, it's Spider-Man and there are some redeeming features (e.g. great special effects/CGI and stuff), I'll see if I can find one near me. Doubt it though.
Bear in mind though, if you're getting for the kids, Electro makes a hole in
a guard's chest with electricity....not something you should show your kids. Might upset them.

Absolutely the best Spider-Man film in my opinion. If someone buys this id happily pay £2 plus postage for it!

Any in Gallion's Reach?
Or was this like a one time thing in a certain place?
Any others spotted apart from the Swansea Smyths store?
Found none in my closest Smyths store.
