Purchased from the fresh fish counter, rather than packaged on a shelf.

It depends which day you go to the supermarkets. The day of delivery is the best day to shop for fish. Having said that, I remember that Asda fish is nicely gutted. Once I asked a man in Gallows Corner's fish counter to gut a fish, it ended up with nearly nothing. Very nasty staff!

Why? ASDA mackerel is sold by the unit and is never fresh! £1.50 for a tiny 200g fish so £7.50, Tesco mackerel is fresh and cheap !
