Terrible film. wasted my life watching it. I feel robbed.

horrible movie, almost made worse by that fact it starts off okay (mainly due to ripping scenes from prior movies). not worth the time it takes to order it, let alone watch it.

Such a bittersweet movie! I was looking forward to it so much. Completely loses itself after the first hour or so.
Apparently all the scenes from the original were refilmed which is impressive and done very well. CGI Arnie t800 looked spot on. That's about as good as it gets unfortunately.
Heat for the price.

The only film I can recall where I have stopped watching halfway through, and I love Terminator movies.
Good thing the planned sequals are no more.

Well done, Dave. A Terminator Genesis deal that's gone hot. You have now completed HUKD.
Heat added mate, I didn't think it was a bad film to be honest, admittedly I did go in with low expectations.

Pretty much how I felt about it too. I liked it, but not a lot, as a great magician once said.

This film really annoyed me. You would have thought they would have learnt a lesson after Terminator 3 and Salvation but they managed to make a film even worse. The casting was so poor...sarah conor and john conor especially. The plot was just ridiculous just because it was difficult to follow all the back and forth in time and kind of made the first two films irrelevant in a way. It is pure and simply a money making decicion ripping off from a good name to make a few bucks whilst diluting the franchise. Hollywood needs to stop making pointless sequels and remakes and concentrate on original material.

I agree with you on almost every point except if you were the head of a studio, you would do exactly the same thing in terms of leveraging IP. Their job is to make great money, not great art - that's what the creatives do. The tension is between both of their needs being met, but remakes have been going on for decades. It's not a recent thing. Scarface, Cape Fear.. both remakes to name but a few.
But saying all that - sweet baby Jesus - was Genisys a truly terrible film!

I haven't seen this yet because I want to continue under the illusion that it doesn't exist. I tried in vain to erase the awful trailers from my mind, but to no avail.

I'm thinking about making a fan edit of this film but not sure its possible! could at least make it watchable like the terminator 3 one. Still only two terminator films in my eyes! Cameron gets the rights back soon but doubt he would make another now. Shame they didn't spend more time writing a decent story than explaining why arnie was a oap :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm a massive Terminator fanboy- but honestly its a terrible movie. The story is rubbish and the casting was very bad. Emilia Clark is as far removed from Sarah Connor as you can get and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reece...? *big sigh*

First viewing of this film is ok as theres lots of winks to the previous movies and Arnie fighting Arnie is a laugh. However, on a second viewing you know the in jokes and homages so its just plain rubbish.
Meant to be a trilogy apparently and with this pile of dung taking $440 million world wide it will happen. Lets hope the next one is a step up (cant go further down).
However, if you really want the film then this price for the 3D version is very good.

T1 and T2 were excellent, T2 a masterpiece. They needed to stop there but money talks and to be honest Arnie has done very few decent films.

This quote kinda gave the game away to me "To me, the single greatest moment on this entire [production] was when Nike said they were going to stop production in the line and make me the sneaker from scratch. So they made me the sneaker, the original, exact replica of the original sneaker."
At least they got the shoes right

yeah there is that trade off between money and art, but there has been a noticeble trend towards blockbuster movies in recent times. You reference Cape Fear and Scarface but they are examples of great remakes! I just think back over recent times and remakes of nightmare on elmstreet, the italian job, Carrie, Fright Night, Psycho, Dracula, Charlie and the chocolate factory etc etc have all been poor. some of these films you cannot recreate because the originals (or known versions) are unique. Apparently the new Dad's Army is rubbish, Starsky and Hutch film was rubbish...again trading off the tv series name. The Lone Ranger, another example and random choice.

I don't know what everyone else was watching but it was a good movie for me. If everyone hadn't moaned about Salvation so much they probably wouldn't have done a reboot - so they give people what they wanted......and they still moan
