Shazam Encore is the premium version of the app, so there is a small download cost, but it is an ad-free environment and includes integration with Spotify and Radio.

This is exactly what I've done for the last couple of years Tbh. When Shazam first came out it was amazing but everything has caught up now including Google. You can even press the Google search button and it'll offer a music button as soon as it hears music. Results come up pretty quick too.

Good for those that have data on the go but Shazam saves the clip till you next connect to a internet network and then saves it. As far as i'm aware, Google only does it real-time and doesn't support offline functionality

I tell you what it is good for, at pub quiz machines some games have a 20s timer on questions. Cortana is better I find (maybe I mumble too much), but even so it pays for a round of beers.

what i really want is an app that can tell me what film is playing from the dialogue. i heard they have some sort of shazam feature in the US (maybe only for live TV) but couldn't find something available in the UK
