Yes, you're correct however I was just sharing my experience of it just in case someone was thinking of using it in the same scenario as me i.e a cheap, unobtrusive USB drive for playing movies etc via a TV.

Whilst it does get warm, I've never had a problem with mine with it constantly plugged into the TV.

I hear you, but your TV is not really of the same Animal?.
Smart TV's USB Sockets are more likely to conform to the USB 2.0 Specification, & not that of USB 3.0 Specification, etc, so the added '10 x Speed Boost' (& with it higher Data Streams/Pen Drives demands & the like will not be present, on account of lack of all that, etc, etc ..... )
Unless I'm mistaken?, lol. :-)

I have this already, paid about £15 for it I believe.
I used it for my car stereo as it wouldn't stick out much.
Heat added.

The issues seem to occur when they're in USB3 ports. Which since you're buying it for the speed and to be small to stay in all the time is a worry.
Personally I'd buy a Samsung or aluminium bodied one, as they seem to suffer less from heat issues.

I have 2 x 64 gig & 1x 128 gig. Two are always in my laptop at any time & I have never noticed them get hot. I use a MacBook Pro, maybe it's other makes?

Thanx for reminding me of that link (saw it some days back, but since forgot), either way:
That comment kind of worries me about the Form Factor of these particular Pen Drive things & stuff, or is that just me ..... thanx.
