Ok so this deal was found two weeks ago but is now expired. Back on today for £159.99 if you use the code SSD at checkout.
Apologies if i shouldn't list it but as the original expired a couple of weeks ago someone may want a good capacity SSD

I bought one last time around and I am very happy with it though the delivery could have been quicker. It arrived two days after it was shipped but they didn't ship it for five days - it felt like a deliberate delay to increase demand for next day deliveries.

cheap plastic tat as everything else from sandisk..pay a bit more and get something decent. have the 256gb version of this and the quality is simply not there....

Not sure what you're going for there... Would it be better if the case was made of machined aluminum?
This is NOT intended to be a high performance, high load or extremely reliable SSD, but it's the cheapest large capacity SSD around. It made a huge difference when replacing a WD Black as my games drive, I would be less comfortable using it as a system drive though.

I have a general rule of only buying Samsung SSDs, but when the Sandisk Plus 240GB dropped to £40, I bought several. I've really not noticed any difference, boot up on Windows 10 seemed actually faster on the Sandisk than the 840 Evos, they really are pretty good products, up there with Samsung, but a lot cheaper.
I like Samsung's machined aluminium but the Sandisk are a fair bit lighter and importantly, cooler in operation. Its hardly a cheap plastic casing either, I rather like the design - all in all, I think the Sandisk casing is 'more practical' for machines you just put the drive in and forget, it does the job.
If you are pulling the SSD in and out of different machines all day, throwing it on a desk, so it ends up under other stuff etc, the Samsung SSDs are better.

The drives are perfectly acceptable for their purpose, if you installed these expecting enterprise or pro performance then you didn't do your homework for that you need SLC and MLC chips and better firmware. If you are complaining about the looks, I can not see the point of paying extra for an aluminium case for a drive that spends it life hidden inside my PC's case.

I just bought one, I am sure that in a few months the price will drop but for today as a cheap storage drive for my PC games it is a more than a decent deal.

Not years. Considering this has already been at 142 and they drop about 30% a year. I dont think quite black friday but it will be down around £120 at least this year.
Edit: Buuuut accepted. £160 is obviously still a long way from £100. It's dropping pretty quickly though so take "close" as "maybe this year/early next". Excuse the hyperbole otherwise

It's not, at all. Going to be waiting a good few years me thinks before £100/TB comes around.

Not THE best SSD on the market, but for that sort of money, it doesn't have to be. Getting very close to the magic £100 for 1TB.

Voted hot but really needs to be around the £140 mark before I consider biting.

Wasn't the last deal for £149.99? They have put the price up it seems.
The previous ebuyer deal was also £159.99, however there are deals on this drive pretty much every week. The lowest I've seen was an Amazon Deal of the Day back in Jan for £142.99
